Granny Danger
So Trump is going to declare a national emergency to use money from Mexico’s budget to pay for his wall? I don’t see much wrong with that.
Zetterlund
Declares "national emergency". Minutes later in press conference: "I didn't need to do this".

It's staggering how dumb he is. I tend to think Comey was being "diplomatic" when he said Trump was of above average intelligence. Especially given his "no comment [grin]" regarding Whittaker. It's going to be absolutely hilarious when it's made clear just which other areas of government this money is being siphoned from. The GOP conservatives are going to either go apoplectic or have already sold their souls.

Harris or Klobuchar so far, don't know much about either but they seem personable enough. Klobuchar is being accused of being a monster to her staff, which in American politics probably means the Republicans see her as a threat, so I'll go for her.

Zetterlund
Harris and O'Rourke are the bookies favourites, both of whom to me look like beige centrists policy-wise but with good PR. Joe Biden 3rd favourite, good grief. More of the same is the last thing the Democrats need. Tulsi Gabbard would be my pick but her anti-war stance all but rules her out. If it's not Tulsi or Bernie I'd vote Green.

I was just stating my preferences without tactical voting or Trump in the equation. Nothing would change with a centrist Dem instead of Trump anyway, it'd be business as usual apart from the cable news channels' ratings taking a hit.

Greenwald's choice Tulsi isn't going to be the next Democratic candidate. She's also hardly anti-war. She's just anti-American war. Her campaign, rightly or wrongly, has been doomed from the get-go. Bernie alienates the Democratic right. He's a non runner, or should be. He's also not a Democrat. The problem the Democrats face is that the further they move to the left (as many of us would want, I suspect), they alienate more. Whereas, when the Republicans push to the right as was the case with Tangoman, the traditional GOP (no pinkos themselves) are less likely to abandon ship. The Democrat party and the Republican party do not function in the same way, and that's true on multiple levels. The moment the Democrats mention socialised healthcare (or whatever they want to call it), the lifeboats are manned. Edit: sorry, quoted the wrong post and can't be arsed changing it.
