energyzone
It has happened many times especially with the 5th round on next week it would never had been allowed to take the chance of Cumbernauld being playable . Remember Dalry only getting 2 attempts a few years back & being forced to go to Pollok. I'm sure there have been a couple of times where there was no limit placed on it - Kelty v Auchinleck and Rutherglen v Girvan are a couple that spring to mind. rednblack
Girvan game was called off five times then moved. We would have been given similar time but obviously that's not good for our club on or off the park. Our manager was even quoted as saying if it was possible to switch it to Musselburgh last week at last minute he would have but that's not possible. fan of the juniors
Don't have an issue with the moving it's just the innovative nonsense I find amusing as if no one has ever done it before
rednblack
Nobody has moved a Scottish cup tie before to a floodlight game at night that's the point. Taking the lead instead of waiting to be told, having no problem playing later and under the lights. Nobody is saying switching the game is a big deal. drs
When your Scottish Cup game is moved to be the second game of the afternoon and is played INDOORS then that's taking the lead and showing initiative. This is 4 years later and not a big issue at all. Thorniewood were leading the way years ago. e2a photo -
rednblack
Ours is an outdoor game though under the floodlights at night. Conditions where clubs could in the future play games on a regular basis league and cup games throughout the week at there own ground. Indoor games like this is something that's never going to be a regular thing where games throughout the season will be played indoors , the scenario we are playing in is something that can be implemented in the future properly not something that happened like the above as a last resort. We would of had other options but were happy to go down this route. Do i think it's innovative no that's probably not the right word but it's great move by the club on so many levels and shows what can be done . That's all my opinion thanks. It was Blantyre Vics who were the innovators by being the first Juniors to go indoors, albeit that one at Ravenscraig was a 1pm KO. 12th Feb 2011 when they finally got this Round 3 fixture played, having been trying at Castle Park since November 27th. Newmains United v Dundee East Craigie was the next Junior Cup tie to be played there, on 29th September 2012. Thorniewood were the third to go indoors at Ravenscraig, on 30th December 2012, v Camelon. But the fixture was indeed leading the way in that it was a 4pm KO. It actually started 6 minutes later, since all had to wait for the kids to get off it who had it booked until 4pm. It was the 7th attempt to play a 3rd round replay. Falkirk Juniors were the first to play a publicly-attendable Junior league match indoors. Also at Ravenscraig, on 23rd March 2013 v Livingston United, although the indoor 3G at Toryglen had been the venue for the police-imposed behind-closed-doors derby of Beith v Kilbirnie Ladeside on 1st October 2011.
