t1t3h
There is a few cars over the series that need body work fixed tbf. I do agree about it being staged but there is only so much that you can put into an hours show. I bought the series 1-9 boxset or something like that off Amazon a few years back. I really enjoyed it and was genuinely thinking whilst watching that I should buy an older car and restore it, like an idiot. Thankfully, reality set in and I soon realised that restoring a car takes time and money which I don't have. Plus I honestly have numerous heads gone moments changing something simple like a wheel or replacing anything under the bonnet. So f**k that carry on.
jimmy boo
Much prefer the earlier series than the US ones. Car SOS is good too if you can get past the sob stories.
Taxman
Sorry to hear the Big Chap has chucked it although I've always suspected his mate Paul was the real mechanic lol

I'm not usually a fan of stuff with the sob stories in it but in this case it's actually what makes the show as good as it is, that they are helping people who have a real need for help.
Trackdaybob
Some mouth breathing fucktards have been sending death threats to Mike Brewer and his family because Edd has left. What is fuckin wrong with these people?? I got about as far as thinking well thanks for the last 14 odd years guys (I'll still watch repeats of certain episodes) and good luck to you both for the future.
Taxman
Apparently Big Edd Is not to happy with the new production company who want to cut back on all the workshop stuff, you can see his point. There are a couple of interviews with him on You Tube.

They took the money so I have a bit less sympathy for him.
jimmy boo
Just noticed the first two episodes of series 14 have been shown on Velocity channel in US but I can't find anything about it being shown here. Just need to fire up the Kodi Firestick later ETA So...first episode was 1995 Ford Escort Cosworth. New mechanic Ant Anstead was excellent and most of it was him hands on and stripping down and rebuilding the engine and turbo etc. So much for the new lot dumbing down on the mechanical side. The_Kincardine
Thought it was worth bumping this. Looks like Edd China (without the annoying fat bloke) is starting a new series: "Your favorite mechanic, Edd China from Wheeler Dealers, is back with what we hope will be a new program series. In Edd China’s Garage Revival, Edd will work with car owners, whose restoration projects have got the better of them, to get their plans back on track." Pilot episode here: Edited May 5, 2018 by The_Kincardine

AL-FFC
Not watched Wheeler Dealers since Ed chucked it, it seemed a lot better then. The new lad (Ant) that does it seems a bit of an annoying twat he broke me 10 minutes into it (not watched it since). Given the time that Mike and Ed had spent together on the show (Mike slagged him off at one of the car shows i think it was and it had been film by someone on their phone and posted online) saying he went a bit diva ish and that he refused to work on certain cars and work on certain jobs that got his hands dirty ( dont be a mechanic then) personally think it was down to Mike just being bitter cause Ed refused to bow down to Velocity and do as he was told.
Trackdaybob
I don't mind Ant at all. He knows what he's doing. Biggest problem for me is they need to come back to the UK. Whilst (most of) the cars they're working on are interesting, I'd just prefer if they returned. I know it'll not happen as the land of stupid is where the money is.
UsedToGoToCentralPark
I like how Ant goes into a bit more technical detail than Ed used to. It's evolved well.
jimmy boo
Stumbled across a new series last night by chance. Brewer is joined by ex F1 mechanic Elvis in a slightly different format of the show made again in the UK. It was the TVR Cerbera episode which was pretty good. https://www.discoveryuk.com/series/wheeler-dealers-dream-car-2/
Taxman
Going off at a slight tangent, Goblin Works Garage is pretty good & it has the gorgeous Helen Stanley as resident eye candy.

pub car king
Catching up on a few of the latest ones. I never knew you could get an escort Cosworth in the states also tempted by an older M3

If so, that was cool.
