glensmad
They made their choice a few years back, when they voted to join the Pyramid. That is what is happening now. Not all the clubs voted in favour of joining the pyramid back then. I know mine didn't. We changed our mind, but that doesn't mean everybody has.

Just Drumchapel as far as I'm aware, along with Glasgow Uni. Being a university club (rather than a 'community' club) , GUFC is unlikely to make a public announcement before the WoSFL closing date for applications.........if at all. However the university is unlikely to risk losing its SFA membership & licence, now that a (suitable) pyramid league is being created in the west/Glasgow region, for it to join. it has been suggested (by a few posters on here), that the SFA will remove the existing 'protected' status, for any clubs not playing in a pyramid league, within a couple of years. Girvan FC, are the other west club, who could lose its existing SFA membership & licence, if it doesn't join the WoSFL,. This club is known to be fundraising in order to purchase and erect floodlights, which are now a licensing requirement, and it may already have submitted an application (?)

There will be at least 10, probably nearer to 20 clubs who believe they are trapped into doing this because they've been told there's nowhere else to go. They would far rather stay junior teams in a junior league, but have been scared into believing no one else feels the same and they'll be left behind if they don't go.

Dev
Benburb just posted on P&B as having applied. Of the clubs which don't yet appear to have gone public about an application to the WoS these have previously shown some interest in the possibility of moving or have put the joint Lowland/EoS/SoS/WRJFA statement of 24th March on social media or a web site or have posted the Troon description of what's what. This doesn't mean that they will make a move and it doesn't mean that the remainder won't move. It is very possible that statements have been missed and some clubs are weak on social media/web sites: Premiership Cumnock, Hurlford and Rossvale Championship Dalry Thistle, Irvine Victoria and St Roch's. (Not seen anything positive from Craigmark Burntonians) League 1 East Kilbride Thistle, Girvan, Lanark United and Wishaw Juniors. (Not seen anything positive from Ardrossan Winton Rovers, Carluke Rovers or Lesmahagow Juniors) League 2 St Anthony's. (Not seen anything positive from Annbank United, Ardeer Thistle, Lugar Boswell Thistle, Maybole Juniors, Saltcoats Victoria, Thorniewood United or Yoker Athletic) Edited March 31, 2020 by Dev up-date.

While the majority view on this thread has been supportive of the move to the WOSL, most have also emphasised individual clubs' right to choose. There's a big difference between "should join" and "must join". Some might say that any "remaining" clubs represent the true "breakaway", by their deciding to ignore the diktats from the WR management.

The same leagues that you lot call insignificant and that the teams in it would be better off in the EOSL.
