Under Option X - eight clubs WILL leave the West Region (not necessarily from the Premiership) to make up the expanded Lowland League.

No, I don't believe that to be correct. The only difference between options W and X is that one of them has the East Region juniors in at the same level as the East of Scotland League.

This was an option that was presented to the LL, EoS, SoS and SJFA by the SFA board and isn't something that's just been dreamed up by "Ra Jooners" on a whim.

So the SOS members would just allow Junior clubs to take all of the places?

Threave are just going to accept it?

Again its currently wishful thinking, from those in the bubble, to assume that Junior clubs would take these (at this point mythical) 16 spaces in an expanded LL.

The way the Options were worded, the Management Committee's preferred Option Z was highlighted as having the approval of the East Region, SPFL and LL.
They do not say if Option W had the approval of SPFL or LL. Obviously the East Region are against it.
The East Region are not on the same level anymore as the West Region. They have already lost all their top clubs to Senior Football. The way the West Region is going, it will also lose its top clubs.

I highly doubt anything is LL or spfl approved at this stage. Dangerously close to the ‘sure thing’ we all heard last year.

Bye Scott.

If Bo'ness United get promoted this season, it could easily be another five seasons before there is another derby game with Lithgae Rose given the absurd promotion and relegation format that is in place. The status quo has some serious issues as well as it is currently constituted.

Isn’t that mainly because Linlithgow aren’t very good just now?

There is no approval or disapproval, that's what these meetings are supposed to be for, to provide feedback on all four proposals plus the boundary. That seem to have got lost along the way in the west.

"Support" not "Approval."

Almost no SoS clubs are interested in stepping up to the LL, so they would not be much of a factor. Glasgow Uni would be an interesting one to watch though.

So SoS clubs would have no interest in being in the inaugural LL west, even though their league champions would likely be automatically promoted to it anyway?

Under Option Z - eight clubs WILL leave the West Region (not necessarily from the Premiership) to make up the expanded Lowland League.

EDIT : Corrected the Option X to Z.

Clubs from WRSJFA will be able to apply for the vacancies created by splitting the LL East and West, but that doesn't mean 8/10 (depending on league size) will be accepted. As has been pointed out, there are already licenced West based clubs who fall outside of the LL who would also be able to apply.

Teams who already had a licence would likely take precedent over those who don't in the process, given that is a requirement of the league.

It's not all about the West Juniors filling the empty spots, despite how it is being sold in some quarters.

Depends who applies. Could be a few curve balls.

Safe to say some of them would be filled by WRSJFA teams, but that's a far cry from the "all", "8", "10" bring presented as fact earlier in the thread.

Might also be a surprise who is chosen. With licensing being the criteria for the league, it may be the league chooses teams who are better equipped to achieve that in a year over those who are not.

Putting the lines of Gartcairn/Peasy ahead of the lines of Pollok (floodlights?) as an example.

There are many ways it could go and that's why West in first at Tier 6 then split LL once enough West juniors are licensed makes more sense.

We all want to see the best teams higher up the structure, this is not a guaranteed way to achieve that, in my humble opinion.

I don’t believe that is correct at all, certainly not the feeling of LL clubs anyway. Again it seems like those in power in the wrsjfa are telling their members porkies to get their desired outcome.
Agreed.

From what I understand there's little support for a split to LL East and LL West at LL level.

No shock there.
