Cosmic Joe
Doing some research on this, post-war in Scotland. Anyone else checked this out? I've set the bar at a minimum of 150 goals in competitive games...

I've been gathering info from a number of sources - unfortunately only got up to surnames beginning with G on the Litster database before somehow managing to delete it from the disc. Various club historical websites have individual appearances and goalscoring records in all competitions, although the Rangers fitbastats site has included Glasgow Cup games in its totals. Litster's database appears to have omitted Spring Cup records for some reason. It's a work in progress, but I've yet to come across anyone bettering Henry Morris's scoring rate of over 91% in all competitions...
microdave
Dumbarton have only ever had one player score more than 150 goals. Hughie Gallacher got 173 in 197 appearances which is 0.88 goals per game. http://sonsarchive.com/player.php?id=

Cosmic Joe
Henry Morris has indeed come out on top post-war with 176 goals from 190 games. Only Alan Gilzean runs him close (165 from 185). "Modern day", only Henrik Larsson, as you would expect, makes the top ten in 6th place with 242 from 313...
