Pars v Livi

Recommended Posts

Good performance today so far, Aird has been very, very good. Morris though has been absolutely outstanding. The game could've panned out different if Murdoch hadn't made an outstanding reaction save just after we scored our first.

For Livingston the last time we played them I thought that the bearded central midfielder and Gallagher? Were their best players, and neither of them are starting which is nice.

Difficult to see any way back from this today

Think AJ has his tactics spot on too, played us at our own tactics, hit us quick on the break and we've struggled.

Two brilliant goals and a nightmare start with the deflection after just a few minutes.

Damage limitation 2nd half for us, never mind.

They are targeting the right hand side which has led to some success but they've given up on the good football they played at the start and are trying long balls into the corners instead. Have 3-1 on the coupon so a dull second half would suit me fine. Nah, sod it, get Ryan on and let's batter them.

Livi's subs at half time made a big difference. That big number 9 was being taken apart at right back. Saying that we did seem to ease off after half time.

He is a striker though, been filling in at CB due to shortages

Can't blame Hopkin for not changing the team but I would have started with Gallagher. Possibly too much loyalty.

Congrats to Dunfermline. Disappointing we didn't take advantage of your bad day at the start of the season like you did with us today.

This is bizarre. Livi and St Mirren have come to Easy End in great form and fallen apart. Putting in truly woeful performances. Dundee United were poor against everyone else, but came to East End and were miles ahead of us. Then resort back to being awful.

Where did that Aird performance come from? He was outstanding today. If that’s what he’s capable of, why has he not been playing in Cardle’s absence? Thought Splaine was also very good in the middle today. Well up for the battle, against a team intent on giving away free kicks, whenever they lost the ball.

Game was scrappy at points, but mostly end-to-end stuff in the first half. Very entertaining. Second half was also end-to-end for parts. After all the praise he was getting from Livi fans, it was almost a shame to see Byrne put in a typical anonymous display. Talented player, but went missing far too often, when he was with us. Didn’t understand Livi starting Todorov in defence. Looked much more solid defensively and better going forward, after moving him up the park.

Was he playing at CB? Seemed to be playing as some sort of right-back.

In fairness Livi didn't look too bad in the 2nd half once they started winning long balls. You'll be in and around the play-offs at the end of the season.

We play a 352 usually, he normally sits as RCB and we have Mullin up right wing

How can a manager be in such a strop about a non penalty, when the whistle had already blown for off side?

Livingston were impressive with their strength in challenging for balls, but always seemed to be walking a fine line through fouling with shoves in the back, that the ref missed quite a few of. Can see them continuing to be a handful and will probably bounce back from what could have been a trouncing.
