parsforlife
Not all the players in these University teams are Students. I am aware of that, however pre-term results still traditionally are more difficult for them to come by. Think it was most notable when stirling were going strong in the EoS days, maybe less of a factor now with the introduction of LL(and it does seem uni's are less strick with themselves in the past few years on how connected players are with them).
HibeeJibee
I did an analysis a few years ago of points taken in August-September (as %) versus season as a whole. Stirling were best, followed by Heriot-Watt Uni, then Edinburgh, then Stirling Uni EOS. Over a number of seasons all of them had a poorer return in those months than the season as a whole, for obvious reasons. If I was to speculate I think the difference - at least for the first teams - could be lower now: e.g. you definitely hear of more cases of players travelling long distances to feature. Edinburgh are/were 'strictest' on player eligibility. You have to be a student or staff member, except quota of outfielders - 2? - and a 'keeper can be graduates, IIRC. Heard that Stirling have quota for 'outsiders'. Heriot-Watt allow Currie Star players (youth link-up). Cyril
Decent game last night, disappointing Kelty couldn't take the 3 points, standard is up massively from last night, Edinburgh, Cumbernauld and Dalbeatie have all been decent sides.

KH7
Well just back from an incredible game of football, Kelty's young guns playing against Partick thistle in the Scottish FA Youth cup. Although some of the boys were a bit nervous and having only had 2 training sessions together , they did do rather well, down 2-1 at half time, they came out all guns blazing in the second half to win 5-3.

It was a good game credit for the 2nd half comeback last 2 Kelty goals were crackers a long range free kick and the lob over the keeper from he centre circle.
KH7
under17's headed for King George the V park to play Leven fc , for some of the boys this was the 3rd game in a week, so a little leg weary, however they managed a 4-1 win, 2-0 at half time, then made a few changes giving some of the not so established players a run out. An escape from the league duty next week with a trip to Dundee in the Scottish cup against Dryburgh Athletic.
