Our record this time last season was: Played: 4 Won: 2 (v Dundee & Hibs) Drawn: 1 (v Killie) Lost: 1 (v Aberdeen) Scored: 8 Conceded: 5 Contrasted to: Played: 4 Won: 1 (v Motherwell) Drawn: 0 Lost: 3 (v Hearts, Celtic & St Johnstone) Scored: 3 Conceded: 7 We've got a weaker first XI than last year and have faced tougher opponents. You've also got to account for bedding 15/16 new players into the squad, compared to a handful last season. He has every right to be raging he can’t get a look in when the midfield offers the strikers nothing. His first touch in particular is horrific and the cause of far too many potentially promising attacks to break down. ETA: That said, I'm not so sure Martin will go straight into the first team. Definitely wouldn’t class Martin as a creator. The much maligned Bingham has also done well and yesterday I thought he caused St Johnstone problems. I saw enough yesterday to be optimistic about the season. Friday's signing should all add something to the squad as well. A much changed line up against Livi I would imagine.
