Boris the Spider
Would be happier if committee just got on with making change. If enough members were against it they could force an EGM. Not sure what % of supporters are required. Edited August 13, 2019 by Boris the Spider
The man with no name
Strollers lost 4-0 to Kilmarnock at Lesser. Killie had Ross Millen sent off for violent conduct in the second half. Disappointing behaviour from an ex player Edited August 13, 2019 by The man with no name

cmontheloknow
Up until a few years ago, SPFL clubs had to use the Non Contract Professional form if they wanted to sign a Professional status player on expenses only. A player with Professional status cannot sign an Amateur registration. This form is used in non-league football as so many clubs don't pay players of Professional status but the SPFL members are not allowed to use it anymore. This means any player signing for QP must sign as a Contract Professional if they still have Professional status - that status is only lost by the player asking to be reinstated as an Amateur. This used to be a 'once a career 'move back, not sure if that is still the case. If not, then there is no reason for them not to do so. It also only applies to playing as an Amateur for clubs in the SJFA/SFA. A player previously paid to play dropping down to the public parks does not need to do it as the Recreational form they use has no restriction. They'd only need to reinstate themselves to Amateur upon signing for QP.
The Spider
thanks for that "lok" - other than loanees every QP player is either amateur or re-instated amateur
QPSpider1867
Add that to the memory book. Great day out today. 3 points on the board. Getting more excited by the week. Big praise for every player today. Can’t see any weakness in the team. Big shout out for Mark Roberts too. Exceptional recruitment and even better management. It’s great having this squad. Hopefully we can have decent contracts ready to offer at the end of the season to retain them.

No need to wind up. Clearly professional status is helping the 8 teams below us in the league - not.
The man with no name
Talking of wind ups, interesting to note that hospitality at Cove is split into 2 price categories. The dearer category is for Brechin, Elgin, Cowdenbeath and Edinburgh City. Bit of an insult to us. Sitting second and bigger away support than most if not all the category 1 clubs!

Elgin and Brechin are local to them. The play off games with us spiced things up a bit as for City can only presume it was because they were one of the top sides last season although with their opening game being against them would have had something to do with it . Most of their hospitality will be to cater for home fans and that's the games which they must have thought held most appeal. Probably dosn't mater a dot to them that QP were Billy Big Baws in 18 canteen. Edited August 18, 2019 by cowdenbeath

Mick. I think that we need a reasoned discussion on the way forward with as many facts as possible being provided. At the moment it seems a bit simplistic. Professional = good amateur = bad.

I think it is simple but not in the terms you describe. Professionalism = chance of surviving. Amateurism = certain death.
