As far as I can tell, Cyprus have never even entered the qualifiers for the World Cup or the Euros before. They didn't play in the Cyprus Cup, an international tournament on their own patch last year. Their leading club sides are mostly made up of foreign players - champions Appolon Limassol have only 4 Cypriots in their squad. This should be - should be - the proverbial walk in the park. Cyprus are properly awful and we should be getting double figures here. We seemed to wake up to the pointlessness of one up front, sadly we lack a real goalscoring number 9.Sitting behind a line of irritating mid 20s women who might be wearing the shirt and colours, but are barely watching the game and are more interested in selfies.
