Sandysafc
Just curious, if the boy Knapp is as good as I’ve heard, why isn’t he selected for Scotland? Good to see 2 boys from Sandys there and doing well!
eyeswideopen15
Not available for selection shall we say Just curious, if the boy Knapp is as good as I’ve heard, why isn’t he selected for Scotland? Thesoccerguy
The boy Knapp would walk into that team no problem atal but as mentioned. Few things happened in past that will stop that from happening unfortunately.
Stucafu
Good squad and good result. Although Whitburn are a poor lot. Re Knapp. The Select manager has always had a difficult task picking his strongest team, usually due to the fact the good players have a little baggage that comes with them. Saw it with numerous players over the years, misbehaving when away etc. Manager then gets told he cant select certain individuals.
Big Tee
Both Knapp and Connell of Shortlees would walk into this team but both unfortunately are complete numpties

justagoalie
Bad committees maybe. Don't think you would get agreement that committees in general ruin football. A lot of good people giving up their time to help their club. As for players not being selected due to previous misbehaviour what would you expect to happen. You would expect players (and committee members) to at least behave when representing their clubs so same applies at national team level

CFCboy92
Is there any reasoning to why there wasn’t any shortlees players in the Scotland squad, with them being one of the top teams in Scotland and having some very good players?
eyeswideopen15
I'm sure the Scotland manager will only consider players that turn up and play for their associations select squads. I'm not sure who's decision it is but their is very rarely any shortlees players in the ayrshire squad. In my experience with our select team, I don’t think it really matters if you’re in your association select or not mate.
eyeswideopen15
Fair enough mate. Shows what I know [emoji1787][emoji1787]. The whittle the 1000s of players available down to 20 odd is a thankless task In my experience with our select team, I don’t think it really matters if you’re in your association select or not mate.

Is it maybe that the scotland manager thinks there is better players from different teams?
