I was reminded of this thread last night during the St Johnstone game when Richard Foster said something along the lines of it being tough for Galatasaray next week because it's a smaller pitch at McDiarmid.

Assuming the internet is up to date, the pitch at McDiarmid is exactly the same size as the pitch the game was played on yesterday (and even if it's not up to date, I can't imagine the dimensions of either or both have changed so much as to make a meaningful difference). 

More generally, the "myth" here is that all Scottish grounds except Hampden, Celtic Park and Ibrox have small pitches.
