Brazilian variant in North East Scotland.

Cigars stubbed out.

Looking forward to this being used as an excuse for an extension to the lockdown again.
Fucking shambles how they’re able to just fly via somewhere to avoid quarantine.

They should react the only logical way by ignoring actual positive cases and make their decisions based solely on the hospital admissions, ICU admissions and deaths.

100% this.  Case numbers shouldn't matter a f**k if very few people are getting seriously ill and hospitalised.

New even more scary big picture of the virus being used on the BBC Scotland news now. 🙄

Well would you look at that: a new variant that’s more transmissible and that’s more resistant to the vaccines and it’s made its way into the UK despite international travel restrictions. Almost as though we need more and longer lockdowns to get the community cases down to the low teens for all of Scotland so we can track and trace these things.
How much more transmissible is it, and how resistant to vaccines is it?

The heads of these fuckwits in UK Gov should roll. Just make everyone have to quarantine in a hotel regardless of where they come from.

How do you know it came in via England?  The American boy that got “released” from quarantine after a day could have brought it in via Dublin.

More utter nonsense from you. I don’t know if you’re trying to play some sort of character on here these days as you’re bored in real life but it’s bizarre stuff.

I see in the news report they say “it is thought it could evade vaccines in the same way as the South African variant”. I look forward to the vaccines blowing ring after ring of cigar smoke in this variant’s face like they’ve done so far with all others.

Realm of diminishing returns for Ad Lib now. The same gag is never as funny again.

The reaction to the news is different this time.

A month or so ago the majority of reactions would have been fear. From what I've seen of this one the majority are "ok, cool, whatever" type responses.

It's almost certainly a non-event, and people know this.

Doesn’t make any sense.  If you’ve been in a red list country in the last 10 days you’re supposed to go into managed quarantine.  The SG page doesn’t mention the timeline but you have to assume they’ve lied on entry if they’ve completed this in one journey and not stayed in Paris for 10 days.

If so then the book should be thrown at them.  Is it 10 years they can get?

Looks like they've followed the rules.  I think.
