Or you can book the tests for the airport when you arrive to get them out of the way. Not sure about the rules before for kids, but everyone now has to do the day 2 test apart from under 5s. Fully vaccinated adults and all UK citizens under 18 no longer have to take the pre return flight test. ok thanks, that was how I read it, though didnt know the tests could be done at airport.

They're probably more expensive but it's quick way of getting them out of the way. You have to book them the same way as the home kits because you need a code for the passenger locator form.
superbigal
Pre Departure PCR testing (if required) in Scottish Airports is extortionate. Also the results still take many hours. Don't get sucked into thinking you could rock up 3 hours before a flight and get a test done & dusted. Safest bet(imo) is just using Randox with a code (Easy to find) for £43 using a drop box. I will use the cheapest tat possible for Day 2 return test as they are simply for getting a Code for your PLF Edited October 4, 2021 by superbigal
welshbairn
Inverness airport are doing pre flight LFTs for the same price as Boots. Found another place that does a home test for half the price though..

How about they fix the app, or provide the ability to manually verify identities instead of just shrugging their shoulders and saying “ah well”.

Apparently they may also need a passport for international travel. Might need to change some GBP into local currency as well if that is not too much trouble. Heaven forbid they need a boarding pass. Not for the faint hearted all this stuff.

Do they need a driving licence if they want to drive abroad? I'm OK. I've got one. Edit: Not got the app yet though. Will leave that until I really have to. If the app is mandatory for international travel, that is because the country you are travelling to requires it. I'd be surprised if the SG commissioned an app for the sole purpose of making something they are so strongly against easier. We know the app was rushed, with the details not finalised until late on, and there has been a clear lack of foresight with regards to the database / ways round verifying your ID. As predicted, a scheme created from the ground up by the SG has been a complete clusterfuck. This announcement shows they could have stuck with the PDFs already available on phones, and integrated with the UK app for international travel should that become a requirement for travel. Unless they are looking for an easy out in terms of an excuse for scrapping them entirely before the 18th none of this makes sense.
