Sorry, why is Jason Leitch attempting to govern Scotland? He's a fucking dentist in some shite wee surgery in some shitehole.

To take the heat off Sturgeon.

It means SNP fanboys can complain about restrictions without having their world view shattered.

There will be plenty of SNP 'fanboys'  who are seething at Sturgeon and have been since March 2020.

28,563 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results

4.1% of these were positive

0 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive

13 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19  (down from 14)

132 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19 (up from 124)

3,459,063 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 2,375,246 have received their second dose

* Please note that Public Health Scotland are aware of a change in the laboratory processing of specimens in the Glasgow Lighthouse lab on 10/06/21, which has resulted in slower processing. This change resulted in yesterday’s reported figures being lower than otherwise might be expected by approximately 150-200 positive cases.

Just been Pfizer’d, feeling fantastic.

It's great having a bit of German goo inside you isn't it?  I had my first one 8 days ago and my arm was sore last Friday for a few hours and that was it.  Which of course was just the muscle pain from being stabbed with a needle.

Yes indeed, though a previous poster indicated that there had always been a 2-3 week gap between positive test and hospitalisation.

it is clear now that with the vaccination programme being where it is, that you are very very unlikely to become seriously ill now if you co tract COVID-19.

so it’s time to get on with our lives.

Nobody said otherwise. What I said was that positive tests don’t immediately lead to hospitalisations. There is a lag, and 2 weeks is what has been baked in since last summer.

Not sure why you are getting your knickers in a twist over it.

I take it the dose is being injected differently depending on which one you get.  Mine which was AZ was just in the layers of skin, a scratch, while others are having the vaccination injected into muscle.

I doubt it makes a lot of difference.

AZ is intramuscular as well.

ETA it does make a huge difference.  If not administered correctly there’s a decent chance it won’t be effective.

They are all intra-muscular injections.

Daily Cases Update:  It's a good thing that case numbers mean feck all compared to only a month ago in terms of lifting restrictions.  Another 4% infection rise as we  cement ourselves in 2nd place in Europe. Infectivity up again and now at 3.7%.

Dundee stays in 3rd place in the UK and may well hit 2nd as Bolton continues to drop. Think Scotgov given up on reacting like they did in Pollokshields.  However NHS Tayside claims that it is "going well" in Kirriemuir seem a little premature.

Major countries in Europe.   Sweden with a big rise to 129.9 per 100K, then Scotland 110.2, Denmark 88.3, Netherlands 76.1,  Belgium 75.3 are the only other countries above 75

Scotland peaked at 301.9 for figures 29th Dec to 4th Jan, (UK was 642.1)    Cases that day were 16,496 and test positivity rate was 11.9%
