itzdrk
I saw that, good for them. Although I don't think that's the end of the road for them in this fight.

GiGi
Think we should just rip up the entire SPFL rulebook and just do whatever the Belgians do at this point.
Ro Sham Bo
I don't think it's a coincidence that the Belgian flag shares the same colours as Partick Thistle.
Broken Algorithms
I'm sure they're sitting on Frites et Leffe paying attention to the Scottish situation posting poorly translated articles from Tom English.
TxRover
Too bad the whole thing was done without a vote and thus bears no similarity to the SPFL situation.
DA Baracus
I didn't realise there were any straws left, but here we are.
bluearmyfaction
Whose idiot idea was it to call a halt to a competition that had ONE game left to play? And First Division A is just about the stupidest name yet for a division. Is that so all the second division clubs can claim to be in the first division? Although the Belgian league is utterly mental. 8 clubs in the second division, and the promotion play-off final is between the clubs in 3rd and 5th. The teams that came 2nd and 7th have been demoted for financial reasons and the team that came 8th has gone bust. The team that came 2nd is still waiting for a decision on its appeal against a decision to overturn the result of a match they'd won because they won it thanks to a quickly-taken free-kick. Also one match was abandoned after a floodlight failure and the Belgian FA awarded it 5-0 to the visitors. That decision too was appealed. Successfully.

Marten
The Belgian league also gets reformed every few years and it often becomes even more mental...
bluearmyfaction
If the second leg of the promotion play-off can't take place, they won't promote either team, and instead will promote the team that comes top... What's so hard about having all 24 clubs in one division?

It didn't really have one game left to play - there were still various play-offs and group stages after that.
bluearmyfaction
They had their mad Europa League play-offs, but they could have concluded all positions and promotion/relegation with one more round.

It's not just the Europa League play-offs - the top 6 clubs go into a Championship group where they play each other home and away again. So there would still have been 11 games to go for those clubs - stopping it 11 games early instead of 10 games is hardly any different.
