LongTimeLurker
Maybe the SPFL need to allow time for some sort of appeal on Tuesday night's SPFL games to be received to be sure they completed the 18 games on Leagues 1 & 2 OK and hence finally be in a position to announce the subsequent games?
Big Dougie
The chances of any game this Saturday is zero, probability more likely is that the game will be pushed back a week. Edited April 22, 2021 by Big Dougie
LongTimeLurker
Have the SFA not already announced the dates for Kelty and Brora as the next two weekends just as the SPFL has provided dates for the extra four SPFL2 games minus the actual clubs that were going to be slotted into each fixture later based on league position? If so, the absence of publicly announced referee appoinments isn't necessarily an issue. The clubs do know already with near certainty where and when the games are and have been able to plan accordingly. The SFA have not said anything re the dates, indeed they have not even done the draw to determine who is home or away in the first leg. I’m not sure the clubs know too much, evidenced by the fact that Brora issued a statement during the week saying as much.
LongTimeLurker
Kelty have a countdown counter on their website for a 3 pm Saturday kickoff: https://keltyhearts.co.uk/ Maybe I got the wrong end of the stick from what was appearing on there.

They've changed the dates on the fixtures pages and above the countdown to TBC from the 24th and 1st so it would seem it's not going ahead this weekend.

Jerry Macguire
This is getting ridiculous. Kelty and Brora should be compensated by the SPFL to cover the cost of testing as a minimum.

Yeah but they resumed training with a date in mind for the play off against each other. Postponing those games to who knows when means they could potentially have started later and avoided any unnecessary costs associated with testing. Let’s not forget they don’t have access to the kind of free money afforded to SPFL clubs this season. Compensation aside the whole thing is a complete joke. Someone at the SFA/SPFL needs to grow a pair and make a decision.

Ginaro
Suppose it's fair enough if the games were delayed by one week to give club 42 some more rest as that's one of the things Brechin were complaining about, rather than having them play 4 days after their final league game. May 1/8 for the pyramid play-off and 15/23 for the final is still doable. But they need to come out soon and tell everyone.
morley
Another advantage of the delay is that if it had gone ahead and lets say Brora came out on top and looking favourites, the whole only played 3 games to be champion thing would have become even more strongly the whole focus for those arguing against. I think most people even if support the idea are less comfortable around Brora as champion than Kelty. So the delay is maybe for the best until the SPFL have made a decision. Don't make it easier for the SPFL to make a decision against the playoff happening. Edited April 22, 2021 by morley

Also less teams for those leagues in Challenge cup as well. Not the Scottish Cup as SFA run that and I don't think anyone believes the overall standard of the LL/HL will drop if both teams go up, but there could be changes happening there anyway in the Scottish Cup driven by other things like growing number of licenced clubs and the changed status of Junior football. But the other two cups maybe as the spfl would need to sell it to clubs and the argument of saying keep money with in the SPFL clubs via the league and spfl run cup competitions with having less non spfl clubs take part would be a way to do that. Maybe not, because so long as we have 5 teams in Europe then the Betfred Cup will need an extra non-league team, so that could be whoever wins the HL/LL play-off.
