Tutankhamen
Hopefully tonight's Rutherglen Glencairn v Cambuslang Rangers game is as entertaining as the Bens v Greenock game on Monday night. Might even see Hillonearth make an appearance.
AM-1
Just home from the game tonight and very impressed with Cambuslang after not knowing what to expect. With it being Glencairns 1st game of pre season nothing much can be drawn from their performance but obvious improvement is needed. Camby have brought together a very decent starting 11 plus the subs contributed too with plenty energy throughout the team. John Gemmell is a different class even playing CH. They will without doubt hold their own and be expecting a top 4 finish. Glencairn looked void of ideas going forward at times and miss the likes of McKay upfront but did make the Camby GK pull off 2 great saves in the 1st half. If Mitchell's shot had went in you would struggle to see a better goal all season. Best of luck to both clubs in the coming season.

Since our game v Beith which I would otherwise have been at ended up cancelled, it would have seemed rude not to...decent game with local bragging rights at stake.
glensmad
I felt 3-0 down at half time was harsh on us on the balance of play in the first half, but Cambuslang took their chances while their goalie made two outstanding saves to deny Mitchell and Gormley. The save from Gormley's header was one which 'Lang goalie coach Andy Goram would have been proud of in his prime.Second half we had Coleman sent off right at the start (terribly harsh to send a player off for diving and a second yellow in a friendly match when there was contact). After that our 8 changes actually improved us, although Cambuslang's changes took a bit of momentum out of them as well. In the end our 10 men won the second half thanks to a terrific goal by u21s striker Ross Smith.Very rusty from Glens, but it was our first game since before Christmas so it was understandable. Cambuslang had played a couple of games already and were clearly sharper, but they look a decent outfit and will certainly be challenging in their conference this year.

glensmad
...... by a country mile [emoji41]Two goals in the three minutes before half time gave the first half scoreline a harsh reflection in my opinion. But hey, football is about scoring goals, your guys did it and your keeper kept them out at the other end. Fair play. [emoji106] The best goal of the night was ours though, a belter of a strike eh ?

Yeah , your goal was a beautiful strike. 2 keepers wouldn't have kept that out. We had plenty of chances in the 2nd half to increase our lead , but some poor finishing and a few cleared off your goal line kept the score down. A fact you conveniently didn't mention

glensmad
Are you Josef Goebbels?Lol I like it. [emoji1787] Remember that clearing the ball off the line needs a defender to be in the right place to do that, all part of a team performance. [emoji6] To be fair, though, Cambuslang did win the game with a bit to spare and I think they'll do well this season. Paul and Billy have invested well in the squad, guys like Gemmell, Anson and Parker will bring good experience and will always contribute goals. And with Andy Goram as goalie coach it shows the level of investment and ambition the club has.
