btb
Seen a coupla mentions for Sabbath and Purple - as a pedant I'd feel the need to point out Sabbath didn't release their debut album until 1970 and likewise Purple (Mk II) didn't release a proper studio album until 70. For me Dylan's best work was in the 70s (Desire, Street Legal) so he's out. I'm almost tempted to put in Pink Floyd for Piper at The Gates of Dawn but the rest of their 60s material is variable in quality. My 5 are The Beatles Jimi Hendrix Rolling Stones (would be in contention for the 70s too, for me anyway) The Byrds The Four Tops (just edge out The Temptations for me on 60s material) ****************** PS - Just to be inconsistent Clapton is a wank even altho his "Vote for Enoch" rant didn't happen until the 70s....
