I’ll be managing Inverness with the rules that I can only buy players born in the Highlands and Islands. Players currently at the club are exempt from these rules. However, over time I will sell them off. Anyone who comes through youth intakes - regardless of place of birth - will be deemed eligible. Tartan Dave Posted December 16, 2021 Author Share Posted December 16, 2021 Andrew Macrae comes in for 3k from Brora as striker cover and is thrust into action instantly due to a Mckay injury. He is a 2 star player but actually seems pretty decent. Called a centre half back from loan, also for cover. Have a pretty average young right back joining from Ross County in January also Was unlucky v Celtic. Rode my luck in some league games too. Gonna go with the Highlands and Islands. AsimButtHitsASix Posted December 17, 2021 Share Posted December 17, 2021 I don't know how much it will help but because the database, for some reason, has a bunch of amateur/welfare sides from there it means all the wee villages like Plockton and Durness are in game but bigger places in the Central Belt without a team like Bearsden aren't. Yeah I managed scotland at the start of the save and there was a few more from these types of areas than I’d expect. That’s what gave me the idea. Giving some more minutes than I normally would to guys like Macrae to try get them ready for first team football. Managed to bring in Maciver from Partick also. I’m only a couple players short of having a really good highland team. Will need to sell Deas, Allardice and Mckay when an offer comes in but none so far. Really liked Ogilvie’s performances and 15 year old Mcglaughlin became youngest ever scorer. i’ve stole one off county which i’ll try to do regularly. They have been relegated so I will raid when I get cash. deas and macgregor want to leave. Deas can. Still no interest in Mckay, Allardice, Duffy or Carson. They are now the last non highlander/youth intake standing. Graham now first choice striker, however, keeping him fit is an issue. A change of tactic maybe required as switching to a steve clarke esque 532 showed some promise in the second half v St Johnstone. They also had a last minute goal ruled out - phew. They are a bit adrift at the bottom so hopefully that keeps up. GMS joins, he is pretty shit now but will be one of my best players.
