beesher
Could anyone recommend somewhere decent for a wee overnight? I'm thinking of the type of place in a wee village or town that has a decent bar/restaurant as well. The least 2 years we have went to the George in Inveraray but are looking elsewhere this year. Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance! A bit pricey but the Ceilidh Place in Ullapool is pretty good. They're doing a two night deal with breakfast and evening meals for 2 for £300 at the moment. Paul Kersey
The Oak Tree Inn at Balmaha by Loch Lomond isn't too shabby. I did an overnight stay there a couple of years ago. I got the boat over to Luss and back in the afternoon, had a meal and a few beers in the bar in the evening and then walked up Conic Hill the following day. A decent wee weekend.

Snap, did that a few years ago with family. Some of the rooms are private cottages. Best to go midweek if there's an option, can get pretty busy but maybe not so much at this time of year.

Sortmeout
It’s pretty expensive unless you pick it up on a deal somewhere but Fonab Castle in Pitlochry is definitely somewhere I would recommend. Just a short taxi or drive into the town and plenty of options for food/music. The food in the hotel itself is also very good although a wee bit too fancy. It can be around £200 a night but when I went it was £99 for 2 which included breakfast.
