Glenconner
With Bonnyton Thistle now relegated, which clubs will join them. With over a possible third of the league for the drop. Is 50 points or above the safety net to avoid relegation? So which teams can't get 50 point, starting from the bottom upwards as of last Saturday. Bonnyton Thistle relegated Blantyre Victoria played 26 points 13 games left 14 total possible pts 49 Cumbernauld Utd played 25 pts 26 total possible pts 65 Rossvale played 31 pts 27 total possible pts 48 Glenafton played 26 pts 30 total possible pts 66 Kilbirnie Ladeside played 31 pts 31 total possible pts 52 Kirkintilloch Rob Roy played 25 pts 33 total possible pts 72 Largs Thistle played 27 pts 33 total possible 60 Rutherglen Glencairn played 28 pts 38 total possible pts 68 Benburb played 30 pts 39 total possible pts 63 Irvine Meadow played 25 pts 40 total possible pts 79 Beith Juniors played 25 pts 42 total possible pts 81 Cumnock played 30 pts 43 total possible pts 67 Troon played 30 pts 45 total possible pts 69 So far it's Bonnyton Thistle folowed by teams who can't reach the safety of 50 points or more Who else will join them? glensmad
After Phase 1 the safety mark was 23 points. Whether that can be used as a guide to the safety mark after Phase 2 remains to be seen.
glensmad
Rossvale v Cumbernauld United on Wednesday night. Whoever loses that game, or doesn't win it, will have a lot of work to do.
Sancho Panza
OK bud will have a stab at it, here's my thoughts Bonnyton Blantyre Rossvale Cumbernauld Kilbirnie A dog fight for 6 bottom between Largs and Glenafton, maybe one other getting drawn in?? Could see the horrible situation of some clubs completing their fixtures and awaiting the results of a few other games to decide their fates. Exciting stuff but sure to be a very competitive league 1 next season no matter what happens.

glensmad
Whoever finishes in 13th place will face an anxious wait to see if our champions win the play-off, if they are allowed to enter it.

Although Darvel did already beat them at Beechwood. Just as long as Pollok don't win........or hurry up and get a Licence. If it does go to a play-off though, the West team will have played a few more games and likely crammed in to a shorter space at end of League season.

Between now and the end of season in league and cups you've got these games left for the 3 West and 3 East title contenders. Darvel min. 19 max. 26 (league, SCC, League Cup) Tranent Juniors min. 14 max. 22 (League, SCC, League Cup) Auchinleck Talbot min. 14 max. 20 (League, SCC, Junior Cup) Linlithgow Rose min. 13 max. 22 (League, SCC, League Cup, Qualifying Cup) Penicuik Athletic min. 13 max. 17 (League, League Cup) Pollok min. 11 max. 16 (League, SCC, League Cup) *done rather quickly so might well be some errors.

We’ll be licensed for next season.

I take it that means not in time for the play-offs this season should Pollok win League. Does there not need to have been at least one game played under floodlights......and they're not even up yet.

Didn’t Bonnyrigg get promoted, albeit after an appeal with a promise that works would be completed? Work will begin shortly on the floodlights so I am told. With the days getting lighter though they won’t be required for midweek games and we don’t have any schedules until April.
theesel1994
Difference then (?) was there was no play-off match involved. The team from the South League were ineligible.

No. From previous years they just need evidence of them working (see: Haddington taking pictures of them the night before) 3 hours ago, South_Pride said: Didn’t Bonnyrigg get promoted, albeit after an appeal with a promise that works would be completed? No, they had to install lights to get a licence to get promoted. Long story short, nothing in Bonnyrigg's situation is applicable here to Pollok. The final licensing committee meeting that clubs need to meet the criteria for is normally in the last week of March, but this season there's another on 11 May.
glensmad
This is the wording in the Licensing Manual regarding floodlights at Entry Level :-"Clubs are required to have a floodlight system at the ground. It is recommended that the following minimum levels apply: Average – 200 lux Min/Max – 0.25.Clubs must be able to evidence That matches have been played under the floodlights, to the satisfaction of match officials, within the last year.Where a relevant body or league raises concerns regarding the suitability of a floodlight system, it will be a matter for the Licensing Committee to determine whether the system meets the terms of the Entry level criteria."

That's where the idea must have got into my head from - the bit about the match officials making the point it had to be a match.

Interesting, seems that line was added for 2021. Darvel didn't play a game under their lights though their pitch wasn't in a fit state.
