In another boost, striker Jack Smith has re-signed for another year...

LongTimeLurker
Declan Hughes was playing quite a bit for Stenny before Christmas but fell out of favour after that by the looks of things: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/declan-hughes/leistungsdaten/spieler/193111 Looks like Dan Watt had a couple of substitute appearances for Berwick Rangers in League Two before moving to Hill of Beath: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/daniel-watt/profil/spieler/406802 Must be rated quite highly by Max Christie if a transfer fee was paid. Number seven
What is the purpose of the club website? There is no mention of the three new signings on there.Seems you need to search the Falkirk Herald site .Also on another subject,Micheal Gemmell has been a fine servant to Bo’ness , but we really need more technically gifted players in midfield . We supposedly had technically gifted players in Galbraith( 51 game season missed 24 ) Grant( missed 29 due to covid and latterly heard he was ill ) Locke ( missed 21 injuries being the main cause. He is one I would try and keep) The three only played 5 times together. Gemmell missed 10 ( 6 no fault of his 2 injured 2 suspended) He leads by example. Number seven
If being fit and running aimlessly about is leading by example then we will get nowhere. That stuff was ok in junior football. The injury situation was unfortunate but should surely not prevent trying to sign good ball players going forward. -

However, somebody has to do the dirty work to allow the so called gifted players the room to show their talent. Anyway that’s my opinion rightly or wrongly. Number seven
Your post seemed to suggest that only technically gifted players got injured.Hard working players are indeed needed in a good balanced team but they also need to be good on the ball .With the best will in the world Michael Gemmell is not that man. However as you say it’s all about opinions. -
Deanburn Dave
We supposedly had technically gifted players in Galbraith( 51 game season missed 24 ).. ............Boheesian, Galbraith was an enigma smothered in secret sauce. You could see there was class there but alas a wee flash of it once or (if lucky) twice in a game didn't make up for his failings. Not least of which was his inability to last 90 minutes. dolly
Number seven seems to have sprung out of nowhere, always suspicious, but has obviously got a problem with Michael Gemmell, where did this come from, suspiciously almost a repeat from the crap earlier in the season. Turn it up mate and don’t start all that nonsense again.Gemmell is not a technically gifted midfielder, that’s the job of others, but has been and probably still is, one of the best defensive midfielders in this league and that’s why every successful club wants a Michael Gemmell.
Number seven
Nothing suspicious mate. This forum is for airing your opinions is it not?I have followed the BUs for over 50 years and have seen some fine players. However there have also been some poor ones.I already stated that Michael Gemmell has been a fine servant to Bo’ness.I have no problem with him and your insinuation is rather unfair. Last season showed that a huge improvement is required if we are to survive in the Lowland League as there are plenty clubs ready to move up and take their place if they stand still.Players come and go.We thank them for there service .However the blinkers have to be removed sometimes to move forward. Deanburn Dave
Michael Gemmell has been the grand master of the dark arts of Fitbaw for a decade. The BU's, Hill of Beath and Bonnyrigg have all benefitted from his specialist skills. Is he a yard slower? Yes. But nobody tries harder than Michael to get back and cover the hard yards. Does he have another season in him ? Yes.Is that season at the BU's ? .....
