Braves were solid in the first half and took their chance when it came along. Hearts equalised just before the break which fairly reflected how the half had gone. Hearts had the better of the second half as Braves dug in, but missed a few good chances in the last 15 minutes or so. Then you would normally have two relegated, with a minimum of one, and a maximum of three. With more West Of Scotland teams licensed, it would likely mean that both East and West champions would get promoted each year, with the South champion losing in the qualification. The Lowland League is already strong, but Gretna and Edinburgh Uni either need to improve, or get relegated. You've been around long enough to know that respect and humility is in short supply West of the Forth. Read almost any of my 'interactions' with regards to the South Clubs status within the pyramid. I've been an advocate of this for ages and it mirrors what they used to do in some of the lower leagues in England. The licensed west clubs shouldn't be penalised because an unlicensed club wins the league ahead of them (and could win the league for several years in a row). It's not a two-tier league: they know what they need to do at the start of the season if they want to be promoted. If they don't finish 1st, they've failed at that task (not that you suspect many clubs in the WoSL have sleepless nights over that). League C only has 3rd place who qualify for a promotion opportunity. If there had been two promotion places available last season as there should have been, an ability to replace Edinburgh University who were way off the required standard with Auchinleck Talbot when Beith ran into bizarre planning permission issues where floodlights were concerned because it wasn't clear who actually owned the land would have resulted in a stronger and more interesting Lowland league in 2023-24. -1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The Lowland League have consistently shown disrespect to the feeder leagues. I suspect the point was that Darvel didn't make it to the LL. No West club has as yet.
