archieb
What on earth has happened to the SJFA? Making the draw for R2 the day BEFORE R1 is played? Back in TJ's day you'd be lucky if the next round was drawn even 2 weeks after the previous one was contested!! Draw is on PLZ Soccer's YouTube channel at 4.05 today! https://twitter.com/scottishjuniors/status/1563157001911250944?s=20&t=xf9AGkfykWGAly_VtpKMYw

They've obviously got connections with the show & the Friday before works best for the publicity.
Ginaro
Going to be interesting to see what happens with Syngenta v Craigmark/Largs as it clashes with a league game v Whitburn, who presumably will need to agree to a date change (free Saturday the week before only if they don't beat Threave tonight).
LongTimeLurker
Is that not the main Scottish Cup?

It's a follow on from Ginaro's suggestion that Syngenta would have a free weekend to play the SJC tie if they were knocked out the Scotttish Cup.
RossBFaeDundee
Downfield 3-2 Dyce Thoroughly enjoyable game at Downfield Park today in the lovely sunshine. Downfield were firmly in charge early on, taking a 2-0 lead (a header and a tap in roond the keeper worthy of 'Fit the f**k?!' from the away support) with ease into the first drinks break. After that though, Dyce came right into the game and were on top by half-time, though without a goal to show for it. Dyce continued controlling the tempo in the second half, and managed to finally hit the net off a header from a lovely free kick, which wasn't a surprise given they looked dangerous from set pieces all game. Oddly enough, the Dyce goal seemed to wake Downfield up and they took over the game for the next 15 minutes, looking dangerous for a while before scoring a beautifully-worked goal that looked to have sent the Spiders through to the next round. However, Dyce received a very late penalty (despite the linesman having his flag up for offside, shat it when the ref disagreed) and made it 3-2. Downfield had some last-ditch defending to do by the end but got the win, though their #10 looks to have badly hurt his arm doing so, hope he's alright. A cracking game, especially after Dyce got a goal back.

Ginaro
I see Bathgate, Livingston United, West Calder United have moved their EOS games to 17th September (useful that their opponents are also SJFA members) - while Syngenta are still down as playing two games on the 24th (EOS game v main rivals Whitburn).
LongTimeLurker
Think it would be surprising if Whitburn didn't help them out on that but they have left the SJFA which was also somewhat surprising. Hope that means HibeeJibee tried to arrange fixtures that would be relatively easy to rearrange for the SJC Saturdays.

Well unlike those Third Division clubs, Syngenta are the only SJFA club in the Second Division so they have to play a non-member in the league that day, who knows if Whitburn will change especially if they have hospitality etc arranged for this top of the table clash. mrman2011
Would be great if this became like the FA Trophy is in England. It can be done with a good deal of ease

LeedsPhil
Rossvale v Auchinleck Talbot gets the standard R2 Saturday use of New Petershill Park, with Petershill v Irvine Meadow being played 8 days early on Friday 16th, 8:15pm. Sensible, since Petershill & Medda would otherwise be sitting idle that weekend, with both's league fixture opponents (Kilwinning & Darvel) on Big Scottish duty instead.
