Kelty Hearts vs Dunfermline Athletic - A New Fife Derby

Recommended Posts

An historic first-ever meeting between the teams next weekend.

Hopefully information on tickets is available soon as there will be a lot of interest in this one for Pars fans.

We've got a 100% record without conceding a goal, while Kelty are yet to get on the board.

2-1 Kelty.

Can’t quite believe we are actually playing Dunfermline in a league game just mental , if you had said this to me 10 years ago I would’ve pissed masel laughing and carted you off to  the loony bin

Seriously though we’ve had a dreadful start , chances are coming just not being executed but the boys are trying and do deserve a shot at this league after serving us so well for the last few seasons but things need to start clicking into place and soon, think next week might be a bit too quick for that to happen and can only see a pars win unfortunately

1-3 Dunfermline

Mon Kelty

It will be weird going into the away end for the first time next week. I supported both clubs growing up and I had season tickets at both clubs in the past including last season.

At least my membership at the ex servicemans club will come in handy pre match

how has he been ?

Took his goal against Edinburgh really well nice and calm backed himself to score. I wasn't at the game yesterday if he came on, but promising start.

The transformation on and off the park has been unreal. Used to have to huddle up under a tiny corrugated iron cover that ran about 15 yards if it was raining, and you'd sometimes have more people watching from the school playground than the side of the park. As a Kelty boy myself it's crazy but pleasing to see. Just wish we weren't in the same division!

Yep, me too - if we were playing away or didn't have a game I used to go to the Kelty games either with my Di or Uncle Archie (who used to play for Kelty, possibly before the name change to Hearts) and have always been in the "home" bit if you like. My Uncle David used to take ticket money and my cousin ran the pie stall for years. Want Kelty to well normally but not this week.

Hope Mochrie starts this one and maybe see Dorrans finally make the bench in our ever depleted squad.

I'm the opposite - wasn't at Edinburgh but was at the Montrose game. He didn't do an awful lot when he came on tbh but that was more because it was a poor game and Montrose were so well drilled at the back and the game looked to be heading for a 0-0 draw. Was hoping he'd unlock things bur we scored soon after then just saw the game out.

Wonder what will happen with kit selection? Do Kelty have change maroon shorts? Because our kits will clash with Kelty's home shirt.

Kelty's away kit is royal blue, top, shorts and socks. I'd imagine they'll wear that and we'll be in our home kit.

Wasn't at the FC Edinburgh game but he came on and got a debut goal which he took very well. Had some good moments after coming on at the weekend, laid one on plate for McCann that he could have taken on himself, McCann really should have scored. All in all he looks the part, probably take a couple of weeks to get up to speed with new team mates etc. Would imagine he'll be in the first 11 shortly.

How many punters are Kelty getting? 400 if we're being generous? We should be seeing around 1500 of an allocation but understandable if they don't want it just to be a Pars Party and give us 1000, but then again Kelty really can't afford to be missing out on the black and white pound.
