Montrose V Alloa

Recommended Posts

Pretty much same view as others- poor finishing cost both teams at different stages of the game. Alloa had a fair few injuries to guys who play every week and I guess on that basis it was a decent enough outcome. The draw was certainly a fair result.

Wasnt his best game and he definitely faded in the second half, but McAllister continues to be a good watch. He had a good tussle with Andy Graham- two experienced players. Some clever wee nudges to make space etc. Not sure what the wee tantrum was as the referee blew for half time though, and he wasnt as good second half.

As much as Alloa werent playing to what they were capable of in the first half- big Sammon should have done better with his header and Donnelly had a pretty strong case for a penalty. Donelly was off it for much of the game though and the post match interview with the manager made sense- that needs must and he threw him into the team despite not at 100%.

Alloa had chances to snatch a victory in the closing stages- Offord gave us something extra off the bench. Scougall had wee bursts of quality in the game. But didnt really do enough to get the 3 points.

Circumstances for both teams (bad run for Montrose, injury depletion for Alloa) meant that both teams probably reasonably satisfied with the outcome. Didnt lose too much ground overall at the top of the table and kept a clean sheet.
