Our shape was much better with Burrell in from the start, and Kennedy dropped who was totally ineffective against the Pars in the previous two fixtures. Worked hard, passed it well and forced a previously unflappable Dunfermine side in to mistakes. Then a crazy 10 minutes before half time undid all that good work, which was frustrating. The second half Dunfermline seemed to settle for a point, we tried to break them down and failed to score again - similar vibes to the last game at TFS, at least we created some chances this time. Would need to see the highlights but looked like a clear handball from Benedictus in the box? Certainly havent had the rub of the green from penalties this season but you make your own luck I suppose. We'd probably just have found a way to conceded again anyway. You've got to give credit to Dunfermline. They just seem to have this absolute desire and focus not to lose, whereas our inconsistency has plagued us all season. Not sure if it comes from the players or managers or a mixture of both. Deserved league winners anyway. Hopefully we can find a way past Airdrie and Hamilton and come up with you. Fair play to Matty Wright who somehow manages to look more and more shite and uninterested every time he plays for us, I'd send him back to Ross County now. In contrast Kucherayvi with another deserved MotM, he is going to be some player and you'd fancy him to stroll in to that St Johnstone side next season. The only other thing I would add was the hilarious police presence from today. Totally, totally over the top. It's a football match between two scottish league 1 clubs, not world war 3 ffs. Was the same for the last game at EEP, must be costing our clubs a fortune for that farce. Good summation which sums up how I feel.

Then again at full time? Jesus, it's the 3rd tier of Scottish football.... Haha, we were in the left hand side of the stand (as you look on to the pitch) and the majority of the police marched over to the other end. My friend commented that if we fancied a shot on the pitch then we simply had to stroll down the front and casually hop the barrier. 1 hour ago, Wind Chime Jimmy said: We had around 200 Pars fans in 4 buses at the White Gates, and the Police presence was way over the top. There were 4 polis transits and 2 polis bikes escorting us to the match. Fuckin madness. We were in Falkirk town centre. Expected some daft young laddies to be scrapping. Saw nothing.

Heaton
Passed the White Gates on they way through Comrie as you were all piling on the buses and saw all the police. Absolute joke. Had to squeeze past them to go up the road. Nae need
Salvo Montalbano
Interesting that McGlynn used the phrase "out-thought" - if anything it's a slight on him that it took until the 4th fixture between us to change shape. Even then the fact we didn't capitulate and came back to draw suggests that actually McPake then was able to adapt to the different system. Don't think that comment stands up to scrutiny John. To then say that Falkirk were better in every department - well defending is part of the game, concentration is part of the game, game management is part of the game, finishing chances is part of the game... I made Falkirk favourites for the play offs a few weeks back but now I'm not so sure. If Queens can sneak in on the back of a good run they'll have a chance. Airdrie have got over their blip. Even the teams in the Championship who looked like they were sleepwalking to relegation seem to have bucked up their ideas. Whoever comes through the play offs will have earned their spot in the Championship the hard way, that's for sure.

Berry
It was difficult to tell going into this how up for it Falkirk in particular would be bearing in mind the title race was practically over, they have an important semi final and fighting to stay above Airdrie for a more favourable playoff position I can’t see being a big motivator for the players right now. My assumption would be they would be aiming to just not lose the game but the way they came out, they hammered us and deservedly took the 2-0 lead, still in disbelief how Falkirk ended the same half at 2-2, almost 2-3! That match very much sums up majority of our season, we’ve rarely blown anyone away in this league, our performances haven’t been spectacular with our first half slowness well known and talked about previously but McPakes got us grinding out results, learning not to lose, only the glitch away at Montrose which we repaid the favour on recently, that’s what has been most impressive. It will be interesting to see how we get on next season, still think we need new strikers and wingers to be more of a threat up top but defensively across the season we’ve been reasonably sound. As for Falkirk, I don’t particularly care if they come up with us or not but if I were a fan of theres I wouldn’t be too downhearted, they can still end the season likely exceeding their expectations, they can still very much get promoted and it’s not inconceivable to see Falkirk in the final. They do need to pick up some form though and quickly. Partly deflated after losing to us at EEP and probably now eyes focusing a little to much on the semi-final I would’ve thought. League will be sewn up officially next week at some point and hopefully gives us an advantage when it comes to sorting the playing squad out for next season.
Heaton
We need a new CB as well. Happy to have Breen once he is back next season but I want Sam Fisher back for next season next to Bene. Otoo was a bit Efe yesterday for me. Don't know if it was the occasion yesterday but thats the worst I've seen him when at CB and the defense looked shakey ASF
VinnyPar
Yeah, Otoo was awful yesterday. Edwards not much better, he's been really poor since he signed his new deal. Hope Breen signs up and we are in for Fisher and Euan Murray in the summer.
DA Baracus
Should we go up then McPake needs to ruthless with the squad. Hopefully he'll clear a lot of them out.

Not sure where this criticism of Edwards is coming from, he had one dissapointing game against Edinburgh, no idea how he can be labelled as really poor. Likewise yesterday no idea how he's getting lumped in with Otoo yesterday. 27 minutes ago, DA Baracus said: Should we go up then McPake needs to ruthless with the squad. par-adise
For a team of knuckle draggers - who can't play football, have shitfest their way to the title, and were "completely dominated" - our first goal, which consisted of twelve passes straight from kick off and every outfield player touching the ball, wasn't too bad.
Yankee_Dollar
Otoo was way out his depth yesterday. Liable for their 2nd goal. He's got a lot to learn if he wants to continue in a defensive roll.

Who’s actually saying the above though? No sensible Falkirk supporter or anyone else who’s watched a lot of L1 this season would think it say that. Dunfermline are a good team. Capable of playing at times and grinding out wins when required. In other words, a title winning team.

Who has branded you knuckle draggers and suggested you’re “shitfesting” your way to the title? The language is (slight) hyperbole but the sentiment is what a large number of Falkirk fans (not saying you or all) and McGlynn have slung at us all season. It is what is at the heart of the "who had more corners" jibes. Even in his post match yesterday McGlynn stops himself half way through a sentence where he seems like he's going to say Falkirk showed they were the better team full stop, to qualify that to say they showed what they were capable of on the day. You'd have to be mad to argue Dunfermline were the better team yesterday. Genuinely the worst performance of the season I'd say. However from the moment you went 2-0 up I'd also argue "dominated" is too strong and we had a couple chances to actually win the game. Indeed if Todd had scored that header on halftime it's unthinkable to me that Falkirk would have come out the second half and won that. The reality is that we've won the league by Easter for a reason. A lot of that is down to our defence and determination. But we've also played some really good football at times.
DA Baracus
Just seen the highlights. Rank defending from us for both goals. Really surprising given how we generally have been pretty solid in that area. Nice move for our first and good finish by Wighton. McCann takes the second well but their keeper won't want to see it again. The first thing you hear in the highlights is a rank chant that needs binned immediately. Really wish folk would cut that out. Sadly some daft chants from both ends that just isn't needed and needs to stop.
