Stenhousemuir -v- Bonnyrigg

Recommended Posts

Frustrating afternoon, capped off with a disallowed goal 5 mins from time.

Bonnyrigg started the game well and were on top for the first half an hour or so, but thereafter they dropped away and didn’t realise pose a threat at all, apart from Sean Crichton’s header off his own cross bar.

We played some nice football, first half in particular but the 2nd half was a bit meh. Huffed and puffed but never really looked like we were going to score.

Paddy Martin in nets for Bonnyrigg was very secure.

Not sure, even if we make the play offs, if we have the nous to negotiate them successfully.

Thought it was a terrible game of football to watch. Ball in the air for most of the time, a goalkeeper who struggles to keep his distribution on the park and an absolute joke of a referee.  Bonnyrigg never really threatened but certainly know how to time waste with perceived injuries.

Thought we were poor and looked to be going through the motions. We played into Bonnyrigg's strengths by keeping the ball in the air and going direct. Crighton and Jamieson were kept busy by the physical McGachie but the Rose offered little going forward.

O'Reilly really misses Yeats down that left hand side. Higgins had numerous chances to play the ball through to him and the pass never came or came too late.  But for playing out of position, thought Higgins done alright. Lowdon came on and least said the better.

Need Reilly to start having shots at goal.

Disappointing result and Stirling next weekend. Got to get the confidence back up.
