oneteaminglasgow
Got thinking during the furore about those nonsense transport commissioner proposals that it might be good to have a place to stick links to consultations etc which would be of possible interest to the P&B masses. I know it’s debateable how much these get taken notice of, but still might be of interest to some to have a home for everything where our elected leaders are asking our thoughts. Ones that caught my interest recently were Edinburgh Council’s proposals on the redevelopment of Leith Links: https://consultationhub.edinburgh.gov.uk/sfc/leith-links-activity-hub/ The other one I’m looking at is the Scottish Governmeng council tax review: https://consult.gov.scot/local-government-and-communities/consultation-on-a-fairer-council-tax/

HY was very distinct today when he said no one would pay more in Council Tax next year than this. That kills stone dead the band E to H reform and the 2nd home multiplier. He can say what he wants at a party conference - he's going to have to find the money to afford it without causing the complete collapse of local authority services first.
Boo Khaki
A fucking Pentanque court? I know Leith has been gentrified, but I've never encountered random groups of bucolic French pensioners standing around on street corners, bored to tears for the lack of somewhere to indulge.

I mentioned in my response that they might want to think about space for stuff that anyone in Leith actually fucking does.

Absolutely. I was in no way agreeing with the announcement just stating the facts. All the hallmarks of a policy springing into his head over the cornflakes. Can't have been costed without some indication from LAs as to what rises they might have been dreaming of.
