Sons Fan Posted November 18, 2023 Share Posted November 18, 2023 I do think we got the tactics wrong, Elgin looked at their weakest when we played to ball on the deck and ran at them but we constantly tried the long looping ball, very frustrating. O'Kelly Isley III Posted November 18, 2023 Share Posted November 18, 2023 Well if anyone was in any doubt as to what Matty Shiels brings to us today provided the answer. Ryan Blair didn't have a bad game but oh we badly missed having pace down the left-hand side. As it was we still created enough chances to win the game - five times hitting the woodwork - but it was far from a free-flowing win. In fairness, the main reason for that was a very organised and disciplined Elgin performance, and fair play to them for that. As already mentioned, Brett Long's save followed almost immediately by the penalty/goal at the other end effectively decided the game. We got there, and we move on.
