  1. The Player and Young Player vote will take place at tomorrows game. The awards will be after the playoffs this year. Date should be confirmed next week.
  2. The Trust AGM is on tonight in Bar72 at the stadium. lots to discuss so would be good to see as many folk along as possible. All members should receive an email today with updated information and a link to a live stream in case you can’t make it. If you're not a member and want to join, come along to tonight and sign up, it’s just £10 for the year.
  3. Great result today. All put in a good shift and the goals were all taken well. Lovely little dink at the end to make it 6
  4. Siting between Jim McAlistair and Colin. It’s pretty full atm haha
  5. Active but not fully official yet. Coming soon to companies house
  6. I second this. It would love to see a full Bar72. A strong Supporters Trust can help shape the future of the club.
  7. I hear you. Will come back to you on this point.
  8. I’m going to be in the bar from around 2pm tomorrow if anyone wants to catch up or chat about anything. Still getting settled in as director but happy to talk over anything
  9. We have revived the Trust Facebook page. If you haven't already head across and hit follow or like https://www.facebook.com/sonstrust
  10. Still places available for the Burns Supper next week. All are welcome https://dumbartonfootballclub.com/2024-burns-supper/
  11. This was shared on FB and I thought it would be interesting for people to see. That’s the view looking down from the castle
  12. Noted will add to the list. Thanks to the folk who came up and had a chat pregame yesterday. Good to hear people’s thoughts. I’ll be in the bar again before the game on Tuesday night if anyone wants a chat.
  13. I’m sure I’ll have a discussion on this in due course. There is the fine line between discussing commercially/ strategically sensitive information in a public forum which will need to be considered but IMO open communication is key, especially in my role as the Trust (fan) Director on the board.
  14. would that mean I’m buying votes….
  15. Folks, I'll be in Bar72 from around 2pm onwards tomorrow and after the game for 30mins or so if anyone wants to catch up or chat through anything. Been catching up with the wider Trust this week and hopefully the board/Owners officially in the coming weeks. Most of my knowledge is "fan based" vs "Director" but would be good to hear good/bad etc points from people.
  16. My point on change coming is purely my personal opinion, no inside knowledge.
  17. That meeting with Wilson still haunts me. God only know why he thought that approach would win him friends. There is a lot to do and IMO change is on the horizon and we need to make sure it’s done correctly with the clubs long term security and the fans at the fore front of all decisions. @the snudge I know from speaking to people already that this is something the trust want to fix ASAP. I suspect their will be comms on social media in the short term as that’s an area that can be moved quickly on but until then I am sure @O'Kelly Isley III, myself and others will try and keep everyone in the loop.
  18. Thank you. I might be quiet for a week or so while reading up on everything and speaking to all sides but the end goal has to be what's right for the club. While it would have been nice to see the turn out higher, I think the quick turn around and the minimal voting options would be the main driver. In the future we will work to have more options and that should drive up the turn out.
  19. That transfer is reminiscent of champ Man/Football Manager days when you wanted to cheat and get your club a load of money by going an English team and paying way over the odds
  20. Fingers crossed for a result today. Is that Robert Jones who used to play with us on the bench for Elgin?
  21. I believe that to be the case as well but atm we seem to be just getting by. We now need to work towards building a solid structure and getting revenue coming in from different areas to support the playing front but also to improve other areas or have a little in reserve for a rainy day.
  22. Short answer - I would be totally confident in asking questions and challenging our current ownership model. I agree that the ownership issues are very important and something I would be looking to get more public transparency on especially their future plans. I believe some of the trust board have had meetings with Cognitive representatives and I would encourage that to continue regardless of having a board director as the more people involved the better. What I would say is a strong well run club with great ties to the community generating their own income and not being reliant to owners has massive positives to it.
  23. Re my connection to Andy - I fully understand peoples concerns and tbh it’s one of the reasons I haven’t came forward previously as I felt people would come to the conclusion you mentioned. Before putting my name forward I did asked around to get peoples options on it and generally it wasn’t seen as a massive issue but time will tell so I decided to proceed. Ultimately people will make their own judgment on it but all I can say is. I have never hidden the connection. I am my own man and no someone’s “person” At previous Trust/football club events I have actively supported people talking openly and freely about any of my wider family involvement, good or bad. It’s not my place to defend their decisions, they are all capable in doing so on their own. Re the money made from the Gers game. Unless there is pressing liabilities I wouldn’t be rushing to spend the money. Let’s bank it and review in the summer.
  24. Business - no connection at all. Family - I refer to him as my cousin but I think technically he’s my second cousin.
