  1. It screams of contract for a friend. MacLean has done nothing special this season
  2. Last night was pretty bad. Reading the reaction online and speaking to people in the bar, here are my thoughts. We have to muddle through to the end of the season. If we get promoted that’s a bonus but in reality we are staying in this division. I think the board and trust need to sit down with the people involved with the majority shareholding company and impress on them that there grands plans aren’t likely to happen and they need to support the club where it is or move on. Match days - There should be a process written up that they follow, it’s not rocket science. It should also include what should happen if the game is called off with fans in the ground/fans in the ground. Pitch - could last night have been on if we had a local groundsman? No idea but I think the club have to look local, maybe they speak to @Dumbarton Rock and get past their differences or someone else. It seems it’s a real labour of love rather than in it for the money at our level. Longer term we need to look at a 4G pitch. I am all for playing on grass but when we struggle for training facilities and have games regularly off because of weather/the pitch, then it seems it’s time. Manager - I am blindly hopeful that there is a break clause in his contract that if we aren’t promoted then he leaves. Communication, Communication, Communication - This is a big one and imo such an easy fix. If something needs to be said publicly, make sure the social media person is there. (Last night, when there was a chance of double. We should have been getting our social media guy and match organiser to the side of the pitch to post straight away and then to radio out to everyone.)
  3. 100% I remember having words with Orsi mum as I dared to shout at her boy. She said something along the lines about fans should stick by the team through thick and thin. Then the 3rd or 4th went in and she left.
  4. Agree to a certain extent but yesterday after HT only one team came out and looked like they wanted to win. Why bring Russel on knowing he can’t header a ball and keep the same tack tics? We are so one dimensional it’s laughable. Ball along the back then long ball up the pitch, hopeful for a head down or flick on. I know we aren’t Barcelona and we have to work with what we have but if we cannot change a tactics in a game of football then we are screwed.
  5. A positive before going into all the doom and gloom. Aron Lynas, what a player! Where’s his heart on his sleeve, always try’s and even when we have a performance like yesterday he is in the bar afterwards talking to folk. Future club captain IMO although I suspect he will be off to bigger team sooner rather than later. Now the gloom. I hope to god that there is a clause in the contract (no promotion then no job) but I think that’s unlikely. The manager will point to injuries, the pitch, the weather as an excuse. At the end of the day he is now on course to failure again. Unbeaten runs etc don’t mean a thing unless you back it up with something. He lacks the ability to change a game (no plan B) and he seems to lack the ability to motivate the players. Stenny, Forfar, rovers etc just looked more up for it. Oh and big McLean is just crap. I have said it before but it still baffles me that a 6ft guy can jump and make himself look smaller. I would rather put Vata in midfield and play with love or McLean up front over him. update - just watched the post match interview and it sums the manager up. No clue, find me someone yesterday who thought it was ‘eachy peache’ in the second half…. From being in multiple dominant points positions to now having a ‘chance’ at promotion isn’t good enough.
  6. I didn’t make the game today but from what I have read and heard from others, considering the result last week and the ref seemed to want to ruin it for everyone. Shots fired from the manager, although I would have thought we had more than 20 in our dressing so it would suggest some also didn’t think we would get a result ( That’s a jokes stevie). We had a pop at him last week so he can have a pop this week. Probs not right but end of the day, results will do the talking. Not the rubbish spouted after a game.
  7. I mean I am no expert but watching I think our groundsman wander around with a fork and a bucket sand at half time really is depressing
  8. Gotta love whoever writes our prematch ramble. The away fans are in the “west stand” We have one stand so you mean the away end.
  9. I fully expect the game to be off but knowing us we will somehow manage to get in on as no one would expect it
  10. First time I am actually hoping for game off. I need to travel for work and at this rate I am missing it. Cmon for a frozen pitch haha
  11. We have been trying to work out your statement in bold for about half the season.
  12. I had the fear going into last night but glad we got away with 3 points. top marks to Gray/Grant/Orsi/O’Byrne all played great. Maybe the had an off night but considering how much people had been talking them up, I thought stenny were average. Couple of scares at our goal but we sat back as we do. Most goal kicks went out the park along with a lot of cross balls etc.
  13. Totally agree. Cracking strike aside we have been hopeless.
  14. Like wise it was a really good night. Great to see a lot of ex players and have a chat. Also great to see Gordon Lennon’s family there and to get a standing ovation
  15. I mean I know nothing about pitches and their maintenance but I tent to agree that a local groundsman would make sense. When Dumbarton Rock looked after it it was in a lot better condition. Granted only 1 team played on it AFAIK. Surely at the start of the season someone in the know about pitches could say if two teams playing on it would work or to do that you need to do xyz.
  16. This post sums up our manager for me. He has no plan B, yes the tactic of getting a goal and sitting back has worked but we are starting to get found out and he doesn’t know what to do. Just going for it is bang average and as you point out something you do on football manager, maybe not something you should do in real life unless you have tried everything else. It was clear in Jan we needed another left sided player but nothing happened. We are top and still in a good position but I have the fear.
  17. They say Champions grind out results so today we need to show that. Annan have helped us so we need to take the opportunity to get the three points. The manager should be looking to make a change to take the game to EF.
  18. Now now. You aren’t allowed to be frustrated with the team/manager/players. We are top of the league and you must comply.
  19. This is the issue with us this season. Any time someone had raised that we haven’t played well they have been shouted down. We have won a lot of games and that’s great but the actual football in most games has been poor. I genuinely can’t thing of a game where we blew a team away. (I missed Elgin away so maybe that was the game) We go a goal up and sit back. I’m surprised more teams haven’t figured us out. We play the ball along the back, Bucky fires a long ball and we attack from there. Very predictable.
  20. ? Which Facebook page is this? I assume we have dropped Blair
  21. I guess it will be loans and we are reliant on bigger clubs getting a body in or holding out for a team higher up to come in. If not the. Sent our way.
  22. It was great to see. The whole team should be proud of the performance and even though we didn’t get the result, they should take confidence from it.
  23. I see the Stirling game is off today. Would be good to get a win today as that would put more pressure on them to keep up.
