  1. Short answer - I would be totally confident in asking questions and challenging our current ownership model. I agree that the ownership issues are very important and something I would be looking to get more public transparency on especially their future plans. I believe some of the trust board have had meetings with Cognitive representatives and I would encourage that to continue regardless of having a board director as the more people involved the better. What I would say is a strong well run club with great ties to the community generating their own income and not being reliant to owners has massive positives to it.
  2. Re my connection to Andy - I fully understand peoples concerns and tbh it’s one of the reasons I haven’t came forward previously as I felt people would come to the conclusion you mentioned. Before putting my name forward I did asked around to get peoples options on it and generally it wasn’t seen as a massive issue but time will tell so I decided to proceed. Ultimately people will make their own judgment on it but all I can say is. I have never hidden the connection. I am my own man and no someone’s “person” At previous Trust/football club events I have actively supported people talking openly and freely about any of my wider family involvement, good or bad. It’s not my place to defend their decisions, they are all capable in doing so on their own. Re the money made from the Gers game. Unless there is pressing liabilities I wouldn’t be rushing to spend the money. Let’s bank it and review in the summer.
  3. Business - no connection at all. Family - I refer to him as my cousin but I think technically he’s my second cousin.
  4. I don’t disagree that it will be a hard role but IMO we do need to think a little differently about how we approach doing things. Take one of my suggestions. I would like to upgrade the bar facilities and the AV to allow for live sport etc. Going to the board and saying I want to do this, give me £3k will likely fail. Going to the board saying I want to do this. It’ll cost £3k with a business case and a plan to cover some or all of the costs will likely be more received more favourably. ATM rasing money is really hard but I do wonder if we change the approach from “we are raising money for the club” which may feel like it goes into a black hole to “we are raising money for x upgrade/project” where you can see the outcome, might be more effective.
  5. In short no. It was never intended to be a selling point. People who know me will know the connection but others may not and I wanted to be open and honest about it from the start.
  6. If shields is away would it be a terrible idea to offer Sam Wardrop a deal to the end of the year?
  7. We didn’t embarrass ourself we scored a goal I got to watch some Gers fans loose it when I said typical Gers get a penalty. “Celtic get more….” Then celebrating their 4th like it was a last gasp winner. Pure delight. The circus has left and we have a nice little sum of cash all in all a good day.
  8. I’m going today and looking forward to it. Yes the old firm bring a lot of hassle but any extra money to the club is always welcome. As long as it’s not a cricket score then it’s really a free hit. loving seeing the gers manager getting the pitch excuse in already
  9. Wasn’t there today but I have always thought Broun was pretty solid considering his age and lack of experience. Glad he had a decent game, it’s a shame long is out but I don’t think broun is far from him
  10. I do think we got the tactics wrong, Elgin looked at their weakest when we played to ball on the deck and ran at them but we constantly tried the long looping ball, very frustrating. A win is a win so can’t complain too much.
  11. Yep sorry about that we have been working away in the background to improve the site and a big release happened this week and it broke some areas. We are working to get them fixed over the next day or so. Hopefully the other changes, although not perfect right now show the direction we are going.
  12. It’s not just him it seems he’s trying to ruin. Watching this is sole distroying
  13. Well the Meet the Manager came out of the blue, fair play to Faz he makes himself available and does events like these but I am not sure the value in it. My impression is he really wants to be loved by the fans but I just don’t see it happening here. He can bang on about records etc but the two big points is, he was at the helm when he got us relegated and at the helm when we fell apart from a massively strong position. I get the feeling that for most fans now it’s a hope of he’ll be gone sooner rather than later. I hate saying “must win” especially this early in the season but today really feels like a must win. Anything but then I think it will get pretty toxic.
  14. Maybe I am wrong but Camelon is managed by Gordon Wylde, is that no Greggs dad? If so then looks like, come here and I’ll play you.
  15. I am not so sure about that. Maybe I am missing something but where are the 4g/5g pitches in Dumbarton? Even if we aren’t renting it out every hour of the day it means we have a training facility for all our teams + Broomhill. Games won’t be getting postponed as much, we won’t have the groundsman debate. We can rent it out safe in the knowledge the pitch isn’t going to get destroyed. I am not saying we would do it but we could also rent the stadium for events and cover the pitch so there is a lot of flexibility.
  16. Why would season tickets numbers = trust numbers? Considering trust membership is £10 I would have thought/hoped for a lot more people.
  17. I would have thought membership would be a lot higher... How does that compare to previous years?
  18. That’s something you don’t see very often. A Sons team with lots of subs
  19. Head says stay away and enjoy the sun but my heart just can’t do it
  20. I am only going on an article I read about premier league managers so assuming it’s the same, I might be wrong. It said that if a club sacked a manager they only had to pay his remain contract unless he signs for another club. At that point they stop paying. @Skyline Drifter seems to have a good grip on all things football from an admin board level generally so he might know common practice.
  21. I take absolutely nothing away from Annan. Well played you ripped us a new one and thankfully took your foot off the gas or it could have easily been double figures. What a complete and utter joke Farrell is. Found out yet again tactically, there was no sense to his 20min subs and bringing on rusty to punt long balls is absolutely amateur stuff at best. instead of shake hands with the ref and down the tunnel he has the balls to walk over a clap that’s fans. Give me a break. What a complete moron. I hope Annan too got a post match interview from him. Can’t wait to here the drivel he comes out with.
  22. Renewed my season ticket for next season today. They are offering pay in full or standing order. That hit was missed in the article
  23. Not against the idea of a third shirt but I believe that in most other seasons we don’t make a lot of money from the sale of shirts.
  24. I hope we keep them and as you say, just add a sponsor to them. Maybe the following season remove the castle from the back and just go full plain for home as imagine that costs a lot but a club our size shouldn’t chop and chnage designs every year.
