guinness
Going by the betting there's only going to be one winner. Mary Earps ffs. See if she had done miraculous saves & they had won the cup. I still wouldn't have given it to her. The sporting world has gone mad

Richey Edwards
These awards mean nothing and go to the highest bidder. Edited December 19, 2023 by Richey Edwards
Savage Henry
In terms of sporting performance, I really haven’t got an issue with Earps winning. Stuart Broad is a bit more of a “personality”, notwithstanding the misnomer of the award.

As a good friend of mine said when discussing SPOTY and Josh Kerr's omission, "I wonder if Earps is a better goalie than Josh"?

Boghead ranter
Unpublished rule is that of the nominees, there has to be a cricketer and someone from the year's most prominent English team. Then they start looking around for sporting achievement.

The Golden God
John McGinn and Callum McGregor are genuinely more deserving on a sporting basis than anyone on that list.
pozbaird
Utterly shite short-leet. Earps will stroll it. Nothing against her personally, and fair do’s to the Lionesses and the general growth in women’s football, but that’s as piss-poor a Sports Personality voting choice as I can remember. It’s the Sports Personality equivalent of Question of Sport, the version hosted by McGuinness - utter shit compared to what it used to be.

Trackdaybob
Punted from the prime time Sunday evening slot to a mediocre Tuesday Nothing more than a popularity contest these days. Ability/achievement nowhere near the requirements to 'win' it.

Musketeer Gripweed
I'll ask it again, why is Dettori not up for overseas personality, have they forgotten that award this year?
