Is it time for a British League?

Recommended Posts

Scottish/Welsh/Irish football is fallen further behind its English counterparts both premier and Championship. So the big question is it time for a major reorganisation and included every club in the UK into league. With smaller clubs in regional leagues to save costs on travel.

Example

Take the top 7 English and Top seven clubs in Scotland and form Super League 1 with two clubs from N.Ireland and wales each. Then do the same below and so on. With One team relegated from the Super League(Lets call it for namesake). And one team promoted from the Premier League. Three teams relegated from the Premier League to Championship/League 1 etc

Let’s think about this.

We’re running the EPL, the most profitable league in the world. how can we improve it? I know, let’s get rid of Chelsea, Newcastle, Palace, etc. and replace them with Dundee, St Mirren and Linfield. That should do the trick..

No but were supposed to one Union. It would give Scottish clubs more money. From Fans, Sponsors and TV. Think about it

Hearts VS Newcastle or Liverpool

Aberdeen VS Manchester City

Raith Rovers VS Hull City

The rival between English and Scottish fans-Battle of Britain week in and week out.

I’ve thought about it,  as have most of the posters on here. You’ve failed to explain what would be the attraction for the EPL clubs, their fans and sponsors.

The harsh reality is that introducing Scottish clubs would reduce the quality (and profitability) of the league. The OF “might” be exceptions, but they’d bring a hefty downside in the shape of hordes of knuckle-dragging bigoted supporters laying waste to English towns.
