There was enough contact for the player to be hurt by the contact, it's 100% a foul in that case.   He could have done a backflip after the contact, that means nothing, there was contact on the player, enough to have him hobbling about after the game - clear penalty that is always going to be given up the other end of the pitch.  Just as the penalty at the end was despite the theatrics.

Player stays on the pitch and plays through pain to assist his team shock horror.   Celtc won one it's exactly the same circumstance.

Don't have Sky, so only had this thread to go on about the decisions last night and was thrilled at the prospect of watching the highlights this morning to see Hibs get robbed.

Imagine my disappointment upon viewing the highlights to discover that both of Celtic's penalties were stone-wallers and Boyle's dive was, indeed, yet another obvious dive from a lad who has dived his way out of the benefit of the doubt with officials. Yes, he gets a touch, but it's not a foul.

Maybe if Boyle hadn't spent years chucking himself to the floor, officials might view him going down more favourably. It's got to be on their minds. "Boyle again, don't get conned."

This is irrelevant. If someone in the centre circle gets wiped out after getting their pass away having shanked it to an opponent, it doesn't mean it's not a foul because they've already conceded possession.

Having seen them all back I can’t say I’m too upset with any of the penalties. If Boyle goes down when he’s hit he’s probably got a chance of getting a pen from the ref or on review, the way he goes down makes it look ridiculous.

Lewis Miller’s chance was a sitter, hit the completely wrong part of his foot and shanked it.

Yeah, looked like there was contact but Boyle seemed to move forward before diving to the ground. Sure, the Ugly Sisters would've got a pen but Boyle has a reputation now. Only has himself to blame.

In just one game vs Hibs, Adam Idah has managed to equal his league goals total for 22/23 season (2) and double his league goals total for 21/22 season (1).

Not sure how you argue with any of the penalty decisions tbh. 

 

Congratulations on your "rival team forum poster predicted they'd win a game that they didn't" trophy, hope it keeps you so engaged, maybe you can look at it when we're playing in Europe this year and you reflect on how utterly shite your team is.

Surely the biggest question that should be asked by Celtic fans isn't about penalties, but what the f*ck has Rodgers done to utterly demolish the good work done by Ange Postecoglou? The dismantling of an impressively sleek machine into a disjointed mish-mash of ineptitude is borderline criminal. Kyogo looks a pale shadow of himself, which is hardly surprising since Rodgers has contrived to turn him into a bit part player rather than being the first name on the team sheet.

Yeah I would agree we are a shadow of what we were and Rodgers has to take some of the blame for that especially the way in which our fullbacks and Kyogo operate these days. I don't blame him fully however as we lost Jota, Mooy and Starfelt in the summer who were big players for us and looked to only looked to properly replace the latter with the rest being punts or last minute panic buys. Add in Hatate who was arguably out best player last season who's hardly kicked a ball  this season and probably won't play till April now and CCV who runs our backline  keeps relapsing we often play with a team that is quite different to the one of last season anyway. Annoyingly we do seem to be sitting on a f**k tonne of cash to sort some of the problems but just refused to use it.

It's not at all.  How many times per week does a player get touched in the box, get a shot off and then the analysis is a players been too honest, if they went down instead of taking the shot it would be a penalty? 

I've not much seen double jeopardy, player gets to take free shot at goal and if not scored they get a penalty regardless.  Why?  Because it's not a rule.  Ref played the advantage, the advantage was to hit a shot at goal and he missed.  A shambles it got brought back and especially when there's no concrete proof it was in the box.
