So after our season apparently being over we now have up to 15 meaningful fixtures left, it's just that Hearts aren't playing in any of them

The permutations are complicated but looking at the next week

If Leipzig can beat mid table Bremen tomorrow afternoon to go 6 clear in 4th place we're off to a good start. Defeat for Dortmund late would mean we can then ignore the final round of the Bundesliga

In Italy there's three rounds of fixtures left so nothing is going to be sorted that quickly we want Bologna to stay in the top four so hopefully they can get something at Napoli

And Roma are level on points with Atalanta so we could do with another away win

Sat 11 May 14:30 RB Leipzig vs Werder Bremen(Bundesliga 1)
Sat 11 May 17:00 Napoli vs Bologna(Seria A)
Sat 11 May 17:30 Mainz vs Dortmund(Bundesliga 1)
Sun 12 May 19:45 Atalanta vs Roma(Seria A)

But it's the cup final on Wednesday where a Juve win could still be crucial

Wed 15 May 20:00 Atalanta vs Juventus(Copa Italia)

Sat 18 May 14:30 Eintracht Frankfurt vs RB Leipzig(Bundesliga 1)
Sat 18 May 14:30 Dortmund vs DarmStadt(Bundesliga 1)

Sun 19 May Roma vs Genoa(Seria A)
Sun 19 May Bologna vs Juventus(Seria A)
Sun 19 May Empoli vs Lecce(Seria A)

Wed 22 May 22:00 Atalanta vs Leverkusen( Europa League)

Sun 26 May Atalanta vs Torino(Seria A)
Sun 26 May Empoli vs Roma(Seria A)
Sun 26 May Genoa vs Bologna(Seria A)

Sat 01 Jun 20:00 Dortmund vs Real Madrid(Champions League)

It's really as simple as that.

Is there a much better pay out for the Europa League group st- I mean that stupid league phase than for the Conference League one? Is it something that Hearts should want? More guaranteed games if not.

It’s the same number of guaranteed games either way with a bit more prize money from UEFA for the EL. Having said that the chance of getting out of the league stage or at least getting financial rewards for racking up points are better in the Conference

But that’s not the point. Hearts fans wanting the Europa Conference where the games are slightly easier than the Europa league would be like Dundee fans getting annoyed at missing out on the Bottom six.

We should be looking to compete at the highest level possible

The EL "league phase" has 8 games compared to 6 in the ECL.

I'd assumed that the two play-off games would've been more, but if there's 8 UEL games as opposed to 6 ECL games, it would only even it out in fairness.

2 pages into a Dundee v Hearts thread and not one single picture of Albert Kidd posted yet??

Never been more disappointed (40+ years of supporting Dundee means that is one hell of a statement…)

Especially because @Hendo could have gone for Wegiephobic to make the alliteration run smoother

I'm giving it 4/10 because while it failed you can see what he was trying to do. It deserves the highest mark short of failure.

I've been goading a chap on another (Hearts only) forum for being a 'midden' fan and one pops up on here with that chat

Coincidence?

Aw this just to dodge the likelihood of being pumped by a team of Norwegian posties in late June/early July. Hardly seems worth the bother.

No Lamie in the squad but we still go for a back 3, and we throw the largely untested Astley in there. Hope he's good 😬
