"Writing off the debt of the world's poorest countries" in particular is a belter. New Labour's policy record is mostly just as awful, and in lots of cases significantly worse, than the Tories record. I'm sure we've all seen the Jon Stone thread by now, but just in case some haven't: Should be compulsory reading for every born again Blairite. Goes on a bit though....

The Labour Party includes Socialists and Social Democrats. It also includes people who would be in the Democrat Party if they had lived in America. Supposedly to the left of the Republican Party (or the Tories) but I am not sure I would call them Left.

Difference between what is and what should be. We have a U.K. centrist party for the centrists.

It's not even on the same level. I actually agree with this. When a politician tells folk not to vote for their party, they cannot really be part of the party any more.

It was a weary resignation that it could be different if only those that almost always represent the left weren't objectionably maladroit in some way shape or form. Or just shouty. It’s been many years since I’ve been active in politics but I knew many folk in the Labour Party back in the day who were on the left and neither maladroit or shouty. I would also suggest that there are elected politicians in the SNP who are definitely left of centre but have neither of these characteristics.
Granny Danger
I’ve just read that Starmer made no reference to Johnson’s confidence vote at PMQs. I find that hard to fathom.

He went on NHS stuff which let Bozo bullshite about a trillion new nuses in 1000 new space hospitals, he then went down the sad constituent with sad story route which let Bozo put on his sad face slow talk routine to veer of on some tangent talking about vaccine roll out and captain hindsight. He is too nice to land a glove, at least when Blackford gets his shot he calls the lying c**t a lying c**t.

Granny Danger
Keir Starmer continues to unimpress. 2 points behind Johnson when asked as to who would be the better PM. Not sure if Labour MPs are blind or if they’re just scared of taking over the shit show that is the U.K. Either way it is an abject failure of leadership at a time Labour should be capitalising on Tory failure and disunity. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jun/11/poll-says-keir-starmer-worse-choice-for-pm-than-boris-johnson

It is drifting to the position in politics that the Tories held under the likes of Major. Now they are extreme right wing, they think if they occupy the old right of centre they will win elections. Sorry Labour in England. You are fucked.
