Eednud
A long way to go but the draws for the Extra Preliminary Round and Preliminary Round were made on Friday 5 July. 745 teams for this season, an increase of 13, which means 653 teams below tier 4. No tier 10 sides allowed to enter due to an increase in tier 9 entrants. 442 teams in the Extra Preliminary Round scheduled for 3 August with the Preliminary Round 17 August. https://www.thefa.com/-/media/thefacom-new/files/competitions/2024-25/efac/the-emirates-fa-cup-ep.ashx?la=en https://www.thefa.com/-/media/thefacom-new/files/competitions/2024-25/efac/the-emirates-fa-cup-p.ashx?la=en Edited July 7 by Eednud
Eednud
Extra Preliminary Round action gets underway tomorrow with 9 games followed by 204 on Saturday then 8 on Sunday. There are a few local derbies but you’ll have to check the fixture list if you want to know. I’ll follow the winners of Portishead Town v Easington Sports in the next round and on and on. Chose Portishead because I like the band. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/fa-cup/scores-fixtures Don’t think BBC usually do a live stream for this round but they do have an article about AFC Croydon Athletic as Wilfred Zaha and Stormzy are part owners. They are at home to Guildford City on Saturday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c1dmj4kzxdro
Eednud
Story about Thame United’s 45 year old player coach at home to one of his previous clubs, Aylesbury United tomorrow. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c51ynqw5re2o
Eednud
Portishead are no more so it’s Easington Sports v Bristol Manor Farm in the next round on 17 August. Highest winning margin was 7 goals, Kimberley Miners Welfare 0 Cleethorpes Town 7, Fairford Town 7 Cirencester Town 0 and Merstham 7 Wick 0. Most goals in a game, 8, Wythenshawe Town 7 Chaddertom 1 and Erith Town 6 Pagham 2. If I counted correctly there are 42 replays this week.
Eednud
It’s Preliminary Round time this weekend with 2 games on Friday, 128 on Saturday and 6 on Sunday. Oddity in the last round where Newport Pagnell Town beat Ilford 3-0 in a replay at Ilford but due to a clerical error by Newport Pagnell’s county FA another replay was ordered. Newport Pagnell won 2-0 at home and face AFC Dunstable at home on Saturday. Easington Sports v Bristol Manor Farm is my route to the Final tie. Thirty three all tier 9 ties this round.

Ended 1-1 replay tomorrow. Top score Longlevens (9) 1 Binfield (8j 9. This was also the highest winning margin. 26 drawn games with 1 replay tonight, 21 tomorrow and 4 on Wednesday. The Exmouth Town (8) v Brixham (9) was abandoned after 70 mins due to a serious injury to an Exmouth player. Exmouth were leading 3-0. Game will be played again on Wednesday unless the FA decide to let the result stand. Easington Sports (9) beat Bristol Manor Farm (8) 3-1 so await the draw for the First Qualifying Round en the route to the Final.
Bully Wee Villa
Seems a bit mad to get rid of replays in the main competition but keep them in qualifying. Surely there can't be much financial benefit to playing the extra games at that level and it will also be difficult for some players to get time off work for a midweek game at short notice.

Eednud
First Qualifying Round this week with addition of level 7 clubs. 112 ties all on Saturday according to BBC fixtures with Campion (9) v Blyth Spartans (7) the BBC tie at 12:30. Campion play at Scotchman Road, Manningham, Bradford. Feel sorry for Exmouth 3-0 ahead against Brixham last round when game abandoned due to injury then lost 0-2 when replayed. Brixham (9) visit Willand Rovers (8) tomorrow. There will be at least seven level 9 sides in the next round thanks to the following all level 9 ties West Didsbury & Chorlton v Silsden, Newcastle Blue Star v Hallam, St Neots Town v Barking, Athletic Newham v Amersham Town, Punjab United v Corinthian, Hartpury University v Nailsea & Tickenham, Fleet Town v AFC Stoneham. My road to the Final sees Easington Sports (9) at home to Frome Town (7).
The Naitch
Blyth just ditched Nobby Solano as gaffer the other day so Campion will fancy the upset.
Eednud
Turns out there was one game last night, Hanworth Villa (8) 3 Walton & Hersham (7) 3 and there is one on Sunday, Great Yarmouth Town (9) v Cheshunt (7).
The Naitch
Campion with the bulk of the chances so far, 0-0 at the break. Ex-Gretna 'star' Nicky Deverdics amongst the Blyth ranks.
The Naitch
That's a lovely finish, level 9 Campion deservedly in front. EDIT: Lead didn't last long with the kind of defending you'd expect at this level. Edited August 31 by The Naitch
The Naitch
Finished 1-1, Campion will quite happily take the replay money that's to come.
Eednud
Second Qualifying Round this weekend. Eighty ties with level 6 sides entering, sixteen level 9 sides still in it but no all level 9 ties. BBC game at 12:30pm Saturday is a Kent derby, Lordswood (9) v Sittingbourne (8). Lordswood from Chatham. My road to Wembley sees Frome Town (7) at home to Larkhall Athletic (8). Two ties on Sunday all others on Saturday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c70jv09v1xpo https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cm2nj5mxppno
southernrover
Frome vs. a suburb of Bath promises to be the most middle class sporting fixture since Solihull and Harrogate were in the National League together. Probably have a pillow fight in Waitrose in lieu of a replay.
