  1. Ban all form of noise in pubs. Children, quizzes, dogs, live music, friends, the lot. When I go for my despressing late night drinking sessions I want to stare blankly into the distance over a pint of stout in perfect silence please.
  2. I think I meant grey. I was pissed then and I'm a good way there typing this now in my defence.
  3. Only ever done that once, at kicking out time in the pub where we'd watched England v. Scotland at Euro 2020. I was smashed and then some. Threw up all over a Premier Inn that night and somehow got off scot free. I am eternally grateful for their grey carpets being the perfect colour to hide vomit stains in.
  4. Sorry for being thick but why do people consider Fraserburgh favourites when Brechin have three points and a (slightly) better GD? I presume the combination of momentum from the 4-2 the other week and the fact that playing Strathspey twice is a given six points and considerable +GD?
  5. I've been to Hastings and I've been to Brighton, I've been to Eastbourne too
  6. I think I am reading it right (underneath the gold chain), but why is it people with 'Only God can judge me' tattoos are nearly always utter cretins that any self-respecting deity would detest?
  7. I went to rugby (league) at Whitehaven that Saturday when football was in mourning. There was a minute's silence there but given both the demographic of the sport and that part of the world it didn't feel forced at all. I stayed sat on the terrace and wasn't the only one. Nobody batted an eyelid.
  8. Hopefully someone digs something up on McNulty and we can 'cancel' him, or more preferably launch him into orbit.
  9. SLF never need a review but what a venue Barrowlands is. Wonderful place. There and Rock City in Nottingham need protecting at all cost! Birmi tonight for Priest/Saxon/Heep. Just the 1840 start time for this one. Good job I took the day off!
  10. I should ask, for those who went this weekend, was there any flag drama or did everyone get the photos they wanted?
  11. I'm sure there was talk a couple of years ago of a hopper turning up at Ross County, then walkimg away when they realised they don't (didn't?) issue a programme. Utter madness. My draw to the whole thing tends to be decent enough ground (no public park or high school cages) and a decent day out (nice part of the world, pubs on the way etc.). Plastic pitch, pre season friendly, no programme, no teamsheet, no pies? I don't care. The day I start to take this all that seriously I will save my time, money and sanity and get a new hobby.
  12. Enroute to Glasgow for Stiff Little Fingers at Barrowlands tonight. My first time at the venue but certainly not my first Fingers gig! Can't wait. Methinks a little bit of a Subcrawl may be due beforehand too
  13. The teetotal version of being in the queue at the bar of a pub and the person in front ordering four cocktails. The government should really introduce some form of system whereby good, sound people who only drink proper drinks can go about their leisure free from the influence of the 'my beveridge requires five minutes, eight ingridients and two people to make it' brigade I remember when I was younger my local swimming baths had coloured bands you put on your wrist so they could tell certain groups to GTF if they had been in there too long. Starbucks need to implement this system post-haste by the sounds of it.
  14. Putting the ball in the Arsenal net
  15. What bothers me more I think is when they make no attempt to contain whatever they end up doing. Sat at a table on the train? Aye, sneeze all over it mate, no bother. Got a roaring cough? Into the office you go pal. One of very few positives that could have come from Covid is hopefully a greater awareness by people of even half-arsed public hygiene. Seemingly lasted until about early 2021 at best.
  16. I saw Rival Sons supporting Sabbath on The End tour. Was impressed but haven't listened to them in a good while. I should sort that! When I last saw Priest it was Michael Schenker supporting. I saw Schenker's own tour in London a few months later and some half cut bloke in the front row threw an Oxford United flag onstage. Doogie White was on vocals during that iteration of the band. He picked up and simply said "And I thought Motherwell FC was fucking embarrassing" before launching it back!
  17. Seeing them in Birmingham and London. Been 8.5 years by my reckoning since they toured over here. Uriah Heep and Saxon (with Brian Tatler still presumably) as support is mental too. Should be one hell of an evening (twice!). That week for me is bookended by Stiff Little Fingers on St Patrick's Day at Barrowlands, then the following Friday in Manchester. If my body and my wallet survive it all it's a miracle.
  18. Was about to say BLA could be misinterpreted as Blackpool, but by the same logic, NEW could be Newport County! Rovers were BLA in their Match of the Day days, or BLB when Blackpool came up.
  19. It gets on my wick how people preach about levelling up then pump the money into Manchester. That place has gone though an unfathomable transformation over the past three decades. It is by a long disance England's closest resemblance to the capital in terms of sport/culture/economy/tourism. Fvck building any more military scale shite there.
  20. Freddie Mercury dying and that cvnt Brian May continuing to exist is all the proof I need.
  21. I was at Blackburn today, looked good value, albeit with a very questionable penalty for handball at 1-0, for their 3-0 lead but HWU did well to force them back to 3-2 and made for a very decent final few mins - United on the break made it 4-2 with literally the final kick of the game. Shout out to the ref who was in the mood for booking literally every swear word uttered on the pitch - I don't believe I have ever seen take the rule so literally!
  22. The Last Resort is certainly one of my desert island discs. I lost interest in them after Frey died but they were a phenomenal band. Could be sat here all night posting their lyrics.
  23. One of my favourite albums ever. My favourite line of theirs was always: Who will provide the grand design, What is yours and what is mine? Because there is no more new frontier, We have got to make it here
  24. Don't confront me with my failures, I had not forgotten them
