This might not be feasible, but is it possible to have a ‘chat room’* style thread where the instigator could exclude posters they didn’t want in.

I’m thinking in particular for GN and politics threads where trolls/contrarians/arseholes  couldn’t disrupt discussion for the sake of it.

* As someone who doesn’t do any sort of social media other than P&B I hope I’ve got the concept of a chat room right.  :(

Tried to send in my CV but the 8mb upload limit was proving a problem.

Good shout, that's an old limit that has long since had it's day.

I've now upgraded Gold members from 2Gb storage to 5Gb, and individual posts now have a limit of 50Mb per post.

Platinum members have unlimited storage and unlimited post size.

Think someone is blocking your upload for another reason.

In fairness it was 55mb.  Had to include the photos and video testimonials.

There used to be a function where you could click on the number of posts in a thread, and a list would appear of all those who had posted and the number of their posts.

Any chance of bringing this back?

If you click the wee graph icon at the top right of any topic you can see the analytics that includes those details 👍

For some reason not gettig the icon. Just "share" & "follow", nothing inbetween. Tried on both Edge & Firefox.

I'm not getting it on Chrome either.

Hmm, I wasn't aware that was restricted. Will have a look into that.

Meantime you can see the topic summary anyway under the first post on each page, just expand that and it shows you top posters in the topic etc...

Didn’t even know you could expand that. Nice.

Can we have the option to get rid of the post count? Feel like a sad act when I see the 30k+ number under my name.

I liked when it used to have the join date in that wee section though.

I was sure that I posted this earlier:

Binning downvotes as it just breeds a toxic atmosphere and it's obvious that some people are weaponising the function In order to chase people off this site.

We're all adults. If people aren't mature enough to squash their beef on PM and away from the crowd, they shouldn't be allowed out in society.

Think of it as constructive criticism.

Remind me how a red dot, with zero substance and information, can be considered "constructive".

Use your mouth/thoughts to be constructive.

Don't pretend some people don't follow others around and proceed with downvote bombing.

Typical keyboard warrior stuff.

Got beef with someone? Squash it behind closed doors.

I only give green dots as I'm able to use my words. That and I'm not a moronic shitbag who thinks following someone around on a posting board is hard.

I sincerely apologise for my little red dot on your post.

It was intended in jest.

Wasn't talking about you.

Or me, actually.

Just generally. Not a week goes by without someone complaining about being stalked.

S'alright..I wiznae being all that sincere.

Aye, seriously though,..I do know (and understand) what you're saying.

My own view is that sometimes folk might just want to give a wee green dot of approval for someone making them smile, or a wee reddy to say they disagree without getting into a big discussion about a topic.

Yeah, different in the politics thread, though...back up yer dots with some considered opinion. Or irrational bias and brute force & ignorance.

I wasn't saying it is constructive criticism. I said you should think of it like that if it makes you feel better. I agree, it's petty and childish. Which is why they should stay.
