First half when it was 1-0, we had a cross into the box which appeared to hit the arm of a Dundee player, there was literally nothing he could do about it and a check went on for a penalty, not given (rightly so imo), but last season those were given left right and centre. It's all part of the new relaxed rules around handball in the box....allegedly.
Liam899
It’s mental that a handball at the start of a move in your own half leads to a goal being disallowed. Totally understand it’s the right decision, but Hearts had virtually everyone behind the ball at the time before we then go up the park and score. Anyway, right decision but feels a bit harsh.

It looked like a pretty obvious handball at the time and I was still feeling a bit grumpy about it not being given, in a “bloody hell is nothing going to go right for us today?” sort of way, when the apparent fourth went in. I certainly didn’t expect VAR to reverse it because it just seemed like one of those days
DeeTillEhDeh
The meltdowns on Jambos Kickback are a delight. Best post though is this beaut before the game.

My personal favourite was the guy who did a 'deep dive analysis' and said words to the effect of "Taylor and Penrice should get a lot of freedom to play well"

There was a definite arrogant Sevcoesque feel to a lot of the predictions. Edited August 11 by DeeTillEhDeh
paranoid android
A deserved win for dundee, obviously. Poor goals conceded by the Hertz. Naismith is probably right to say that there wasn't enough energy in our performance, and that we lost all the one-to-ones, second balls, etc., but it would be better if he admitted setting us up wrong.
Bigmouth Strikes Again
Glad the penalty/hand ball decisions have been relaxed, because that was a load of absolute nonsense last season. IMO.

No idea which player it was mate tbh, just know it was checked and looked like a hand/arm on the replays.

Yeah, definitely hit his hand in that incident - but not a penalty, and I hope it never is again (even though that's two weeks in a row the new guidelines on handball have cost us what would probably have been a penalty last year)

Not aware of any other situation other than the Larkeche one blocking Shankland's shot. Larkeche's arm was literally right in front of his body, it's like the opposite of the 'arm in an unnatural position' criteria. If he was armless, Shankland's shot would still have been blocked by Larkeche in the same way. I don't even think that would've been given last season. Not surprised that VAR didn't bother getting the ref over for a look, as it's exactly the kind of incident that the new guidelines were implemented for to avoid punishing players. You'd be spitting acid if that was given against you, because if that's ever even considered a penalty, the game is truly, TRULY gone. I totally agree mate, I just hope it's the same rules for the bigot brothers.
