not the sons
Whats the script with the Bankies these says? I read somewhere that they are doing pretty good in the juniors and are only a league below the West Superleague? Correct. Won Central League 2 at the first time of asking in 03/04, and within 5 minutes of promotion from Central League 1 last season (last minute goal by Dunipace in their last game of the season did them in). This season still in the Scottish last 32 - play Vale of Leven next month. Second top of the League - with fewer games played than anyone else and five games in hand over the team at the top (though eight points behind). So in two and a half seasons that's not bad. For more details go to http://www.clydebankfc.co.uk/ Their problem is still having nowhere to call home. They play at Drummie Ams Glenhead park in Duntocher, but that agreement will end no later than May 2007, so they are looking for somewhere else to play. But considering the situation in June 2002, decent progress, IMO.
Guest BerwickRadge
All the best to everyone connected with Clydebank FC - you guys deserve all the credit for turning around the club. A real "Phoenix From The Flames" senario going on there. Good luck for the rest of the season guys, from all at Berwick

BTID
thanks very much for all the comments, all the supporters really appreicate it. We were all so disappointed not to go up last season but we've got a good squad this year and have a good chance of going up. However it is a very tight league and it's so hard to call games in this league. Hopefully we can go far in the ovd this year, it's been a good run so far cheers. A lot of the old Bankies fans still come along like at Wimbledon?

That's good, is it not comfortably more than some of your league attendances near the end? Only went to Old Kilbowie twice (was it New Kilbowie?) but never imagined then that the team beating us would go out of business!
MTJ
As much, as I didn't like the original Clydebank, they would be most welcome back in the senior ranks.

PtB
Was pointed onto this site - nice to see people taking an interest in us. Our crowds average 425, and we've had almost 1000 at home games and taken 600 to away games. Our derby games with Yoker and Vale of Leven tend to attract around 600. some teams in our divison pull in 30 if they are lucky. Hopefully be back at some of your senior grounds in the not too distant future!!! PtB
MTJ
What is the likelyhood of the Bankies getting a permanent home, which would surely be the first step on the road back to the senior ranks.

Pretty much all the regulars from that site moved over here to Pie and Bovril in the end, SFO was pretty much the forerunner of P&B. Ive been following the Bankies progress in the juniors right from the start, a real good news story and testament to a lot of hard work. Fingers crossed you'll get that second promotion this season. Just about raised enough for the feasibility study to start, about £50,000. Encouraging noises from the council and various others I hear, hopefully be some good news in the next few months. Thistle - Bankies matches were always good especially at Kilbowie with The Jags travelling support.
