Guest
I agree with all the folk saying the prom is a rip off, I'm only going cos everyone else is and I've got a good burd for it tbh.
Gaz
I didn't go to my old school prom. I did, however, play in the band the school hired for the prom for two years after I'd left. I got thrown out after the gig for wearing a Free Nelson Mandela t-shirt, as "political slogans are innapropriate for such a formal situation", apparently.
Nick_BCFC
We didn't even get a shitty disco at my school.
Breaking Decency
I can't remember how much ours was, but it was alright. I won the cashless casino thing. I also watched a teacher beat the crap out of this w****r of a kid called Ashley. That was fun.
An Sionnach
I can't remember how much, or even if we had an end of school party. If we did, it certainly wasn't called a "prom", FFS! In fairness, I am talking June 1976..... All I do remember on leaving school forever was thinking "thank fúck that's over"! Ruggy's right, BTW. A neighbour's daughter was going to her school prom and there was talk of limo hire, a specialist hairdresser (whatever the hell one of those is) and a party frock at £100. Outrageous waste of money on a piece of shitty Americana imported into leafy Paisley!
woodside
I can mind getting a letter through the door asking if Id like to pay 30 odd quid to hang about with the dorks from my old school at some shitty city centre hotel on a Tuesday night. No thanks.
Guest
The limo I'm in is 20 quid each! Of course, being the gentleman that I am, I've paid for both of us.

I thought I'd point that out now to avoid unneccessary heartbreak on the big night.

Is it you who has been saying how happy you are these past 6 months or so? I thought it was someone else? Or have you just changed your name recently?

Jeezo TwisteH, you clearly don't know where the bargains are. My Hummer Limo cost me £10! And whats this with taking a girl to the prom? You try and pull as many girls as you can, not one.
GypsyTillIDie
I mind we all got a limo for our primary seven disco that was held in our assembly hall/gym class. Fucking brilliant day all the same, loved it - 15 of my best pals cruising about in fucking Carmyle and shouting abuse at drunk neds ('twas a Friday night). Bit ridiculous now I look back on it but it was worth it. We never paid much for it either, someone had a friend of a friend that allowed us to get a decent discount.

And i've been "twisteH" since I've joined, I think you're thinking of someone else.

Rugster
I never had a prom, but I've had a few hummers.

Worked out to only be about £3 each IIRC, which was cheaper than getting a service bus to the place!
Guest
Ach, it only happens once. Live a little.
Breaking Decency
Ach, it only happens once. Live a little. Limos are a bit crappy too. Unless you're a 11 year old girl or an early 90s dance music video aficionado, people shouldn't go about in them. Same as stretch hummers.
