booitsme7
Australia are now 8 down. In the last 17 Ashes series, the team who has won the urn has won the opening Test 15 times.

jmothecat
Root's test, hopefully the first scene of Root's Ashes. Excellent.

die hard doonhamer
Slim, as mentioned it would be the 3rd highest chase in test history. The pitch is also doing a bit so batting isn't the easiest. I reckon it will be over just after tea tomorrow. Called it.
DeeTillEhDeh
Did Warner model his moustache on another infamous racist?
kerrdavidson95
I hate Ali Evans. Gets pumped about the park when he's bowling and gets clean bowled for scud all and he's walking about laughing all the time. He needs humbled.
jmothecat
England name an unchanged squad for Lords. Re-watched some of the highlights and it's really noticeable how well England played during the first test. I switched to TMS during the interval of the final ODI against New Zealand and Flintoff was being interviewed. He predicted an England win and when asked why he said that looking at the potential teams man for man he thought England came out better. Thinking of Smith, Harris and Johnson I wasn't sure, but watching Root, Broad and Anderson okay fantasticly, whilst Johnson didn't do a great deal, Smith had moments but never quite achieved what was probably expected of him and Harris unfortunately injured it does look like England potentially have the better players. For Australia I would expect them to drop Watson, and Starc may be an enforced loss for Thursday but I'm intrigued to see how they line up.
AberdeenBud
Marsh in for Watsonlbw and Siddle for Starc imo.
jmothecat
Marsh in for Watsonlbw and Siddle for Starc imo. If Starc does manage to play on Thursday there could be three Aussies called 'Mitchell'. I'm not sure if I can think of anyone with the forename 'Mitchell' who doesn't play cricket for Australia.

Bobby Skidmarks
Siddle should have been playing in the first test in my opinion. He bowls very well in England and plays aggressively without being a massive cock. Take note, Mitchell Johnson.
Swarley
From Twitter: Brad Haddin has withdrawn from the second Ashes Test for personal reasons and will be replaced by Peter Nevill.(@SkyNewsAust)
AberdeenBud
Will that be his Test debut? Some match to be thrust in to. Could be Haddin finished, he was averaging around 20 since the last ashes anyway.
Fuctifano
Having lost their last 2 to Afghan and Netherlands at the weekend, Scotland need another 24 with 7 wickets in hand to beat Kenya and put ourselves back in with a decent shout of qualifying for the playoffs- last 2 games are against Canada and Oman.
wulliemc
I think he has Haddin's day. Barring iron gloves and a pair surely Nevill will see the series out.
Bobby Skidmarks
Haddins daughters had some serious problems in the past. Despite him being a massive welt, I hope it's not related. This guy Nevill can bat though.
die hard doonhamer
He's not flying home and hasn't been ruled out any further than the second test.
jmothecat
You're looking good now for our bet jmo. I'll need to look up the post, I can't actually remember the details. Remember it had something to do with both this and the New Zealand series.
