Bath not getting the 50-50 calls here Touch and go whether he was above the horizontal will be the refs excuse.

Mark Connolly
That is the best disallowed try ever - if they had let him score, it's a tricky kick, and they stay at 14 men!

Left Back
Thats superb from Exeter. Always liked the look of Josh Hodge when he filled in for an injured Hoggy. He’s got something.
GHF-23
Very little to fear in that Wales team I'd say, even in our weakest positions I think it's a toss up. Maybe just the surprise factor of Winnett and Costelow? Excited to see how we make an arse of it.
GHF-23
And the Scotland team... I guess BK is injured, must have missed that but I've always liked Rowe so keen to see how he does. Interesting having Healy and Cam Redpath on the bench, any subs outside 12 is gonna mean some shifting around by the look of things. With Darge out I'm surprised Dempsey misses out as well, maybe just with recently returning. It's still a strong back row although not sure about carrying. Locks and replacement props are bobbins as discussed. Tbh I could see us winning this comfortably but equally could see it being tight with 30 to go and our pack giving up pen after pen for a sickening loss.
come on shire
Blair Kinghorn will miss the 1st 2 games. On paper I've seen stronger Welsh sides but Rio Dyer is quality. Won't be long till he gets a move away from the Dragons I'd wager. Edited February 1 by come on shire
GAD
I'm not feeling that Scotland team at all in all honesty. Back 3 look shaky, back row isn't our strongest or our most in form, bench front row is ropey and the second row is functional but not brilliant. Can see issues at line out, scrum, defence and under the high ball. Dunno, not filling me with confidence.
honestly united
I thought Crosbie was more of a open side so not sure why Ritchie is prefered at 7. Also all the press has been about Christie and his 3 MoM performances for Sarries, and doent even get on the bench. I supposed if there was any game you would want to have 2 uncapped props on the bench this is it, but it doesnt fill you with confidence, especially if we get similar next week against France. Hopefully we can get 60 or 70 minutes out of Fagerson and Schoeman, Im sure Fagerson has played full 80 before. I've also just realised we only pick 1 fullback in the entire squad, and given McLean's injured do we even have anyone that plays FB as first choice, not just wingers or centres that can fill in?

At 15, we've got Smith obviously, who is injured, then Hastings has played well therefore us before, but again injured, then Maitland has also played well therefore us but we don't pick him now. I'm sure Steyn had played there as well. To be honest, I'm not quite sure why it's not him this time either. I just have a horrible feeling about this. Getting flashbacks to a few other times we've gone to Cardiff as favourites, missing some good players and with a bit of a weird team and none of them were good times.

On paper I think we look stronger than them but I do know the game isn't played on paper. If both teams play to their potential we win. Can't go into it looking at it any other way to me.
GHF-23
Get fucked Rob I'm with @GAD, weirdly I've been more optimistic going into most recent 6Ns than this one and I think we're looking at a weaker tournament (I expect an Ireland win without gaining a grand slam, France to struggle a bit without Dupont and Ntamack, England to muddle about somewhere between 3rd and 5th) with an overall good squad. But I think we're in danger of losing an arm wrestle with Wales here, and that would be a very negative start away from home or not. @Left Back I would take our team over there's still just about, in key areas we've the stronger starters. But it's not all one way, and our depth is poor. Maybe just an overreaction to some guys missing out on the squad/XV due to not getting back from injury in time - feels like a set back already to not have our strongest team out, and two uncapped props on the bench gives me the fear I must say. I'd probably put the back rows about even for this one, their starting locks and our starting front row. Backs I'd have us everywhere but potentially the back three. @honestly united, I think both Ritchie and Crosbie would come under the old 6.5 classification people used to discuss with Chris Robshaw. Neither is an out and out 7 at the level of Darge or Watson at his best, but together they've got everything you'd want from a pair of flankers.
