I've seen a lot of idiots saying that Daly's red card should not have been red because "it was an accident". As clear a red as you'll ever see.

*edit* I enjoyed the commentators trying to make excuses for Daly as well. "Yes, it's a red but ehhhhh there's nothing he could do because he was running" - idiots.

In fairness it would improve it.....but yeah it's poor form. Could easily blind someone with that. Put me on mind of Phil de Glanville taking a horror stamp to face off an all black.

I look forward to his disciplinary hearing and the plea in mitigation that it was Joe Marler he was standing on. Red Card, but a medal as well

Bollocks isn't it. Clearly has his arms ready to wrap him up in the air, then realised what he was doing a second too late to pull out. As soon as contact was made you could see his face drop with regret.

I'm not saying it wasn't an accident but intent or not, it is a red. The fact that they're saying that it shouldn't be a red because it wasn't deliberate is what I think is daft.

Also he's landed on his neck/head area - last time I checked, that was a red card offence. For what it's worth, I thought it would have been yellow because it looked like he'd landed on his shoulder but the replays show it was his neck. So it is red.

This is 100% spot on, no plausible argument against it.
