Eastenders....

Recommended Posts

Danielle is her daughter from her first love Joel that got ran over and killed by Janine at a wild guess about 6 years ago. Joel and his wife died recently on honeymoon after remarrying (Joel left her to be with Ronnie only for her to dump him for a reason that escapes me at the mo) and Hannah (who is Joel and his wife's daughter) blames Ronnie as they wouldn't have remarried if Ronnie didn't whisk Joel away then dump him meaning he ran back to his wife. Hence they wouldn't have been on honeymoon hence they wouldn't have died.

I realise I've explained that appallingly but hopefully it jogs your memory

Thanks, I'll go on Wikipedia to fill in the blanks.

After Phil Mitchell's recent face turn there doesn't seem to be much to look forward to at the moment.

Joel left his wife to be with Ronnie, who was just looking for a replacement Amy/Danielle. She brought up the idea of trying for a baby when they'd been official for around 6 hours and he told her he'd had a vasectomy. She threw him out on the spot.

Did Ronnies dad Archie not tell her that her daughter died as an infant or something along those lines?

He did, yes. He'd said that she drowned as a youngster so she didn't believe that Danielle was actually Amy until the locket was placed in her glass at (i think) Archie and Peggy's wedding. Then she realised that she'd been lied to, went to look for her and found her in the square, standing in the road. She called out "Baby" and Danielle was hit by Janine's car. Danielle died in Ronnie's arms.

Strong performance from yung Jay tonight, he really held the episode together.

I'm not very keen on the new Johnny, however. Since Phil's face turn, it's been a party hard show to stay invested in and returning characters like that, the most disposable of the Carters (and that's saying something when Lee's in there), are not the way to make amends.

Jay has been in fine form recently, shame this'll eventually lead to him being outed as a total paedo.

I'd considered this eventual outcome to the story but then remembered her first appearance. Didn't she sit in the cafe so she could take her drunk mum (who just happened to be mentioned shortly before she appeared -it's almost as if they wanted to remind us who she was!) home? Did they get a cab or something? What would be the point in that?
